Update: after the below review was sent I received the apology and promise that things would be better when I went back. They do not care about their customer service they want just exactly what they gave and I'm not going back. I did have one of their peach mango pies leftover from our dinner since we decided to do the full deal when we ate there. Since the pie had cooled I bit into it and just got crust, since I like a little bit more than empty calories with my dessert I looked at the pie. One fourth of the pie had filling in it. But when it's hot and bubbling when they give it to you the fruit filler keeps moving around so you think you have a full-filled pie. Too bad this place is not on the going under list. (Original review) I am a senior citizen but even for others I noticed it was hard for them to read the menu. We ended up getting their large bucket and was very displeased. Legs thighs no breasts. A whole bucket of mostly thighs and two legs. My wife's first leg tasted only of onion powder. Her next piece of chicken tasted okay. I'm pretty sure there is MSG in the chicken because when there is MSG I lose my sense of taste so I ate my fill without tasting anything after the first couple of bites. Since we got the large bucket it came with three pies. Two peach and mango and one that I can't pronounce. I believe it is a purple sweet potato. The outer covering was good and crispy with the inside was warm baby food. I'm not that old yet. When we ordered I went through the order and got a side of potatoes and two sodas, my wife informed me they didn't have any soda she was interested in which means there was no Dr pepper, no Mr pibb, no 7UP, no Sprite. So I told them forget about the drinks we'll just drink water. I paid for it and then I asked him for the water cups and he says oh I gave you water and so I looked on my receipt and sure enough $2.79 per bottle of water. When I picked up the tray of food I informed the individual that I didn't want bottles of water I just wanted to get water from the the soda machines and he gave me this look that offered no enlightenment whatsoever so I said okay what is it going to cost me to get sodas he said don't worry about it it's only $0.40 and he handed me two cups but I was still irritated since one of them was filled with water and other was filled with a drink I didn't particularly care for but could choke it down. When I get home I will be taking heavy potassium tablets to compensate for the massive salt in this meal. The biscuits I rate about 60% but yet better than KFC. The chicken was greasier than KFC's and cost quite a bit more. We won't be back, not interested in paying all white meat prices for brown meat. Nore am I interested in clerks that try to push the purchase price up against the...
Read moreI've been wanting to come here since it opened, not being in the west valley, it's an hour drive or so. I'm a bit of a fried chicken fan and I'm known for it with friends and family so my wife surprised us with a little drive after seeing a movie on this side of town. That being said, I won't be making the drive again. If I'm in the area or if they open one near me, I might try it again. The chicken was ok, a solid 3 out of 5. The flavor was between Fry's deli and Church's. A little greasy but a great crunch. The chicken flesh was flavorless not the batter was good. I really liked the gravy. My wife thought it was a little KFC but I thought it was better than that. Dark and a little thicker. I had the Palabok with mine. I really liked it. I wouldn't say it's for someone who's not a foodie or who doesn't eat other than regular things on a menu. My daughter's fries were chewy and cold. I got some too but they were fresh. They were not crunchy, despite being fresh but they were hot. My wife and kids got the chicken strips. Very chewy, no crunch and flavorless. They tasted and felt like they were sitting under a headlamp and to be honest, I've had better at a truck stop chicken joint. My wife had the adobo rice. It was good. Fluffy but needed more adobo sauce as it tasted more like rice than anything. I enjoyed the spaghetti. It's about what I expected. Sweet and smoky. It tasted both fresh and canned and was a bit reminiscent of the canned spaghetti we might have grown up with. It's not gourmet so take it for what it is. Sweet spaghetti, easy to eat with a fork as it's mixed together with meat sauce and smoky hot dogs. My son had the chicken sandwich. Not much to brag about. Same chewy chicken tenders in a patty from. The pies were pretty good. My wife didn't like the grainy texture of the ube. I liked it though because I'm familiar with ube taste and texture. Maybe that said something about an everyday person trying and having expectations of it. The mango one was good. I really liked the pastry though. Very crunchy and soft. Not too hot like you'd get somewhere else but didn't taste or feel old either. Lastly, I had the mashed potatoes. I liked them halfway through. I think I had to get used to it. There was a hint of sweetness and they were more creamy than I expected. I ended up really liking them though. They tasted like real potatoes and I'd get little chunks of potato coming through. I wish I tried the spicy chicken, and thought about getting a 2 piece to try but my wife and kids were so unhappy with their meal, she wasn't with the idea. Again, I personally wouldn't make the drive but I might peek my head in of there were one near me and give them another shot. This time I'd go in with lowered...
Read moreGreat Food! Although their full menu is not available yet. Opening day was long lines. The place is to small. Need more tables.
Update: 5 months after opening Service has been horrible, slower than swamp water. . The store opens at 8am, but their drive thru doesnât open till later per the manager I spoken with. I guess, you call it FILIPINO Time? I thought when you come over to the USA, youâre supposed to leave that behind?
Breakfast Menu: Tapa, Corn Beef, Longanisa Meals
Being Asian, having the right amount of rice is important and the amount of garlic rice with these meals was enough. All meals come with a fried egg with a cooked yolk, Iâd prefer my yolk runny. The meals donât come with a drink and UNFORTUNATELY they donât sell coffee. Who doesnât want coffee with their breakfast ? So we ended up buying pineapple juice. On the cost end, itâs quite expensive especially when it doesnât come with a drink, compared to McD Big Breakfast with Hot Cakes and you can buy a large coffee for $1. TAPA MEAL: the meat wasnât tender and couldnât figure out what the taste was supposed to be, so it was bland to my taste. The amount of tapa was good, had enough rice to go along with the tapa. CORN BEEF MEAL: the corn beef wasnât salty and it wasnât runny either with juices. The amount of corn beef wasnât enough and had a lot of rice left over. Overall, Iâd take this meal over the Tapa meal. LONGANISA MEAL: TBD. The oil from these meals was getting to me after awhile, much like when you can only eat so much of Jollibeeâs Fried Chicken.
LONGANISA MEAL: No it wasnât served on a plate, but transferred the food to my plate. Overall, the best of the three breakfast meals, right amount of rice and again prefer my eggs a bit little more runny. Longanisa wasnât too bad as compared to store bought longanisa from our local Asian market. If there was another meal available that I would pick over this it would be the TOCINOO MEAL, which is only available in Las Vegas and CA Jollibeeâs.
Palabok: This wasnât as good as I thought it would be, as you can see a very bit runny and wet. Iâd say my wife cooks better palabok. I wouldnât buy this again.
2020.07.27 Fried Chicken
For the past two times we bought chicken, it has been bland and overcooked. We called the store about the change and they said it was because they had a different cook?
UPDATE: 11/14/2020 OMG NO MORE CHICKEN TENDERS OR JOLLY HOTDOGS!!! Just went thru drive thru and was told no more hotdogs or tenders! Their chicken prices went up on their buckets; 6pcs bucket went up to $11 and some change. Oh well, good bye Jollibee...hello...
