Grooming Department: Horrible and unacceptable. I would give 0 stars if it was possible.
I've been going to the Chandler, AZ Petsmart since I've moved here almost 2 years ago for nail trimming for my 2 dogs. Today I went in and the associate named Crystal in grooming had an attitude with the current dog talking garbage to the dog about its owner. Then she started in on me telling me I was NOT in their system and questioning me saying "are you SURE you've been to this one because you're not in my system." I continued to tell her they've been having this problem since they switched systems but I was in there. She was trying to dismiss my husband and I but I told her to check another way. Which she continued to roll her eyes. Finally she found me and I told her multiple times my dog needed a two person assist because he will nip and will try to escape. She then took my dog to do his nails by herself. My husband asked another associate, who was sitting on her butt playing on her phone, why Crystal did not get another person to assist her and she said "Oh Crystal likes to work by herself., she doesn't work well with others." At this time my dog is yelping in pain and trying to escape. I then looked at the associate doing absolutely nothing and said "I asked for a two person assist with my dog, please go help!" She gets up laughing while my dog is clearly in pain and walks back to Crystal making jokes. My dog was trying to escape her (which I can definitely see why, she was extremely rough and clearly was not an animal person) and he kept yelping (which I must add never happens when others do it). I then told her to stop and give me my dog because she was done! She then gave me my dog and said "never come back!" Trust me, you couldn't pay me to let you touch my dogs. My husband and I talked to the manager Stephanie who was an absolute sweetheart and apologized on behalf of Crystals attitude and the poor grooming. She said she would definitely talk to Crystal about what she did and didn't make me pay for any nail trimming. Crystal in grooming was extremely rude, unprofessional, abusive to my dog, and honestly is just there for a paycheck. Pet owners beware of their grooming department. If you go there, make sure you watch them. The rest of the store is lovely but I will not be returning after being a 12 year loyal customer.

Read moreI stopped by yesterday to pick up some algae eaters for my outdoor fixture, but I had an awful experience. There was no one at the fish station to help me, so I asked a young lady who’s a dog trainer for assistance. She was super nice and willing to help. But then an older lady stepped in to assist instead.
From the moment I started talking to her, she gave me a shitty attitude. I politely asked for Chinese algae eaters multiple times, but she kept arguing that Dwarf sucking fish was the same thing. Even though I clearly said I wanted Chinese algae eaters, she somehow she only wanted to give me Dwawf-sucking fish in the upper tank and just kept insisting they were the same thing. I do not know what her problem is because I have both of these fish in one of my tanks and I know Dwarf-sucking fish will not survive in the outdoor pond. I told her this information and politely explained the reason why I needed Chinese algae eaters rather than the other fish she still gave me attitude and repeated the same thing to me. Clearly, Petsmart employee do not care about animal wellness or know nothing about that fact and only do what is best for their interest. I do not even want to pull out the race card while she clearly has a problem with Asian dudes.
When she finally started scooping out the fish, it was obvious she was either annoyed with me or just couldn’t catch them. She started to do everything aggressively. It seemed too difficult for her to do her job. She clearly needs more training and an anger management course. Eventually, she let another young lady take over, and she was great—nice and efficient in getting me the fish I needed.

Read moreHad an appointment for grooming at what I thought was a different store for 6:30. Got there and they figured out it was at THIS store. They told me that as long as I got there by 6:50 they could still take my golden retriever. Ok. So i get there at 6:50 and they say “sorry, we can’t take her anymore”. UM, WHAT?! Same girl that told me on the phone that they could still take her if we got there by 6:50. Why would they tell me that they would take her if they were going to back up on their word?! She said that they wouldn’t be able to finish by closing and that it would take 2 1/2 hours (all she needed was a bath and blow dry. Shouldn’t even take 2 hours). I wouldn’t have bothered to go all the way over there if they were going to turn me away. They begrudgingly took her and guess what? It only took them an hour. They were done by 8:15. I won’t be visiting this petsmart grooming salon again. The girl did apologize but I’m still not happy with the way things were handled. They made a much bigger deal about it than they should have. Called customer service and it’ll take someone 24-48 hours to call me back about this. Sounds like they don’t want to keep their customers happy.
