Tonight was my second time ordering carry out from this location. The first time, I was told it would be an hour. I showed up 40 mins after placing my order (20 mins earlier than the given time) and got a cold order of pizzas. I was very disappointed. I decided not to base my opinion of a place on just one visit, so I tried again. Tonight I was given 1 hour and 15 min for my order to be ready, but based upon my previous experience, I headed to the restaurant 25 mins early. I walked to the front area where two young women were working to seat people and to give out carryout orders. I was first in line, followed by a couple and another single individual. I was clearly at the front and everyone else was waiting behind me in a straight line. Oddly enough, they looked past me and asked to help the couple behind me and proceeded to seat them. I thought they surely must have missed me or thought I was already helped, so I positioned myself more obviously to the middle. Again, they ignored me and helped the single individual with his take out order. It was like something out of the Twilight Zone. Finally, I was acknowledged and told my order had 20 more mins. I looked into the warmer and saw a large pizza with a small one on top, which is what I ordered. But, I went back to my car and waited, as the lobby area seating was all occupied. 15 mins later, I came back to the counter and was followed in by another couple and then two parents with 2 small children. And wouldn't you know it, they helped both of those groups before me again. I was actually astonished! I didn't give any hostile vibes or bad looks or anything. I don't know these employees at all. I was confused! Never had something like this happen to me ever. I wasn't told that they were working on it or that they would check or anything. NOTHING! Finally I got asked what I needed and gave my name. She pulled out the exact 2 pizzas that were in the warmer at an angle. The only order in there, as a matter of fact. And guess what? Both were cold! There is no way-none- that these pizzas just came out of the oven and weren't the ones already sitting there. By the time I drove 3 miles home in 45°, I had to reheat the pizzas for my family. This was, by far, the strangest experience I've ever had at any establishment. For the record, the pizzas were both very tasty, so no complaints about the food, except for being cold. My biggest concern is with the service and how truly bizarre it was. It was bad enough to prompt me to write this review immediately. I'm not sure I'm willing to give it...
Read moreMy son and husband had lunch here today after spending the morning together, a nice father-son bonding day. Once they arrived they were told to sit down anywhere because half the restaurant was closed. (Understandable for lunch on a weekday). Their server was Liz. They ordered drinks (water and strawberry lemonade). After 5-10min the drinks came. They then ordered their food, fried pickles for an appetizer and pizza for entrees. Liz informed them that she’d bring the pickles out first. As they were waiting for their food they keep seeing other tables getting their drinks and food right away. Our son (5yr old) was getting extremely hungry and upset after 20min and him seeing this. Finally, the pickles came out piping hot. (So, still couldn’t eat them). Then, maybe a minute later she brought their pizzas out. I understand that she just may have forgotten to put their appetizer in or got distracted by another table etc. (It wasn’t busy) At least apologize for having to wait so long for the appetizer and own any mistake made. She also was not very personable and seemed annoyed with them even being there and her having to serve them. When my husband saw her again when she came to check on them, he asked for the check and a box. When she came back with the check my husband had the card ready to hand her but she just dropped the check off and quickly left. The food was very good but the server just made for a super long lunch and not a good experience. Just from the beginning to the end, service was not good. Unfortunate that this was the last stop for my son and husband’s day out together. Put a damper on the...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would! Avoid this place! You would think being the only Old Chicago in Arizona, that they would do better! It started out decent in the beginning but derailed very quickly there after. We waited 10 mins for the server to show at our table after being seated. Our drinks and appetizer arrived rather quickly but it took 25 mins for the server to return to take our actual food order. Our drinks were always empty and we had to ask each time for refills during the entire visit. Dirty dishes were left at our table for a while and the server walked by our table numerous times. We saw the server just standing around most of the time chatting with co workers. It took 30 to 40 mins for our food to arrive and it wasn't even what we ordered! The server was rude behind our backs by rolling his eyes and flipping us off at one point when we started to get upset with the service experience. We weren't even rude just asking for food progress update and asking for the manager help. The manager did fixed our food and removed it off bill, but when we gave the server my card to pay we saw the server EXAMINING THE CARD THROUGHLY AND THEN WRITTING DOWN THE CREDIT CARD NUMBER AND SHOWING IT TO CO WORKERS!!!! THAT IS THEFT! Can't believe they would employ someone who does stuff like this! After all this, we will NOT be returning to this place and will be...
