Went there for my best friend’s birthday and the service was horrible!!! My table ordered wings, “jerk” chicken and the Cubanos. My boyfriend had food poisoning from either the chicken wings or the “jerk” chicken. The first batch of chicken wings came out extremely dry with no chicken, just crispy skin and then the waiter didn’t even bring out ranch/blue cheese! We ordered some more wings as we were a large group and those were very meaty but looked a little pink now that I remember. The “Jerk” chicken is NOT real jerk, it’s some kind of off putting thick sauce. Also, there was a point when we had a shorter gentleman come up and asks us if we need more drinks— we ordered some more of the banana plantation shots and he said “well that’s not supposed to be served down here as a shot” so then our regular waiter came back and all of a sudden said they were out of that shot we requested. Just extremely frustrating and disappointing, we understand it’s new but they need to check their meat thermometers to avoid contamination!! Wish we could get a refund for...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place. MN needs a really good Tiki bar and I had hopes that this would be the place since it’s close to my home but it fell completely short. I would hope things improve for the better, there is so much potential here.
Vibe- going down the stairs from the upper supper club I was intrigued by the bamboo walls and excited for what maybe at the bottom of stairs… bamboo walls continued through out the space, chairs and table fit the theme. Music was not of the Tiki genres and set to low which gave the place more of a local bar vibe.
Drinks- The drinks tasted good but poorly presented, as if I had order drinks from any restaurant. Drinks were not served in Tiki mugs, lackluster minimal garnishes. Tiki drinks should have pineapple, smoke, fire- it’s the very nature of a “Tiki drink.” A missed opportunity.
Rum Row is an okay place for friends to come hang out and get drinks but the Tiki Bar enthusiast would be sadly...
Read moreLove the concept but they have some service bugs to definitely work out. It took ONE HOUR to get 2 drinks and we were a couple of the first people through the door at 4pm for happy hour. And I’m not exaggerating. We ordered at 4:08pm and got the drinks at 4:58. Asked our server several times about the drinks and she just told us that they were busy and they would be out soon. She finally decided to check with the bartenders and they had given our drinks apparently to someone else long ago. There were other patrons having the same issue and they went upstairs to Dangerfield’s bar to order something and bring it back downstairs. Food was quick and pretty good. Cuban was really good. My wife had a beef and rice bowl that was bland and needed some lime and maybe some type of aioli for the dry rice. I’ll try it again but probably won’t go back for several months until they’ve hopefully figured out...
