We’ve had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at Banh Mi Ong Beo in Chantilly twice now, and each visit has been absolutely delicious and satisfying. This cozy Vietnamese spot delivers flavorful, comforting meals at a great price—and it’s quickly become one of our go-to places for a quick, hearty bite.
On our recent visit, we ordered the Banh Mi Bo Ne and Banh Mi Chao, both served with fresh bánh mì rolls that are perfect for dipping and savoring every bite. The Bo Ne came sizzling hot on a cast iron skillet with tender beef, crinkle-cut fries, onions, egg, and herbs—everything you want in a comforting, savory meal. The Banh Mi Chao was equally impressive, with house-made meatballs, slices of Vietnamese cold cuts, pate, egg, and veggies, all beautifully arranged and packed with flavor.
To pair with our meal, we tried two of their signature drinks: the Sea Salt Vietnamese Coffee and the Ong Beo Iced Coffee. Both were bold, rich, and refreshing—just the caffeine boost we needed to round out our meal.
Ordering is easy and convenient, whether you prefer ordering in person, using the self-service kiosk, or placing an online order for pickup. We also love that they sell their bánh mì bread on its own. Our son is obsessed with it—the crust is perfectly crisp, while the inside is soft, airy, and incredibly light. It's so good, we always grab an extra loaf to go.
Banh Mi Ong Beo offers a wonderful balance of authentic Vietnamese comfort food, welcoming service, and great value. We’re already looking forward to...
Read moreVery happy there’s a good banh mi spot out in west Fairfax area! Have ordered a few different occasions and so far, very consistent. Bread and ingredients are always fresh. Have tried several sandwiches, but favorite are the Cha Lua and Ga. They also have few different varieties of summer rolls (shrimp, grilled/sliced Vietnamese pork, etc)…good alternatives as well. There are other items there that I have not tried (pork spring rolls, dessert drinks, etc…). Place is recommended. Give it a try!
Update as of 9/6/2024: Under new management now, so recently went to try as the menu has changed a bit. I would say the sandwiches got better. I tried the chicken as well as the cha lua. The cha lua had right amount of "Viet mayo" and pate...and the sandwich was packed! Very satisfying! The chicken (ga) was came with old school banh mi bread with well seasoned dark meat chicken, no tendon pieces, which I don't like biting into. Very tasty! Both sandwiches had a good amount of the pickled veggies, few spicy peppers. A little more cilantro would've been nice, but that's just me, I love lots of cilantro! The prices remained the same. They have a couple new sandwiches that I may try later, as well as new plated dishes they plan to roll out. But again, no banh mi places out in West Fairfax/Chantilly area, so it's nice to have one that actually is good! Fresh ingredients, great portion size, and reasonable prices. They even do the buy 5 get one free, I believe. Definitely...
Read moreChatted with the owner and manager ..... went there today for Grand opening.
Asked if they use authentic ingredients like chicken pate and they said YES! Therefore that means YAY for the rest of civilization.
Got two regular banh mi combos (see pics). -- Is there actually pate in the baguette roll? ..... heck YES. -- Is there actually vietnamese-style super delicious headcheese cold cuts in the baguette roll? ..... oh YES. -- Is there actually jalapeños in the baguette roll? ..... better believe it YES. -- Is there actually pickled julienne daikon and carrots in the baguette roll? ..... of course YES. -- Is the banh mi using the real vietnamese-french baguette roll that's crusty on the outside while soft and chewy on the inside? ..... oh my lord YES. -- Is there a fried egg in the sandwich? ...... Believe it, yes! As an add on cost.
Bonus -- The glutinous rice dessert in the fridge (see pic) is deceptively delicious. It's got, of course, sweetened glutinous rice, sweetened pinto beans (..... crazy unique, right.... ) sauced with coconut milk. It's not too sweet and it just goes down easy during a hot and muggy day.
Conclusion, it's yummy, it's authentic banh mi, it doesn't require one to drive to Eden Center/7 Corners in Falls Church. Yea, I'm going back over and over and over and over ........ because no one else offers authentic banh mi (with pate and utterless delicious headcheese cold cuts) that I know of within ~20...
