They gave me a different service than what I booked, without asking or telling me until it was too late.

I called and booked a relaxer; I showed up and said “I’m here for my relaxer appointment;” I sat down and my stylist said “so you’re here for a relaxer?” She consults with another stylist in a language I didn’t understand, and I figured they were just discussing work stuff. Now I think they were talking about the hair service, but they never told me.

Then my stylist starts applying the solution to my hair. She’s about halfway done when she says, “I’m so glad we’re not doing a relaxer, it’s much too harsh.” I didn’t want to say anything mid-service for fear that she’d mess up whatever non-relaxer she was doing. Internally I thought, “excuse me, WHAT??” I asked, if this isn’t a relaxer then what is it? She replied, well it’s like a relaxer but it’s more gentle, it’s not a relaxer.

So I let her finish, while I’m quietly SEETHING mad while she’s doing the service. It turns out she did what I’ve heard called Japanese hair straightening. After the service, my hair looked good. I said, “I’m glad it looks good because this is NOT the service that I booked and you changed it without asking.” Then they tried to tell me that it was the service I booked, that they had written down ‘straight perm’ and that’s what this is.

I know what a relaxer is. I know what Japanese straightening is. I’ve had both. They are different services, with a different process different chemicals. And a different price— a relaxer is less than half the price of Japanese straightening. And THEY KNEW what a relaxer was too, because my stylist SAID, “I’m glad we’re not doing a relaxer.” She changed the service without asking me or telling me, until it was too late, and I paid more than twice what a relaxer should’ve cost.

Everybody has a bad day and makes mistakes, but this was too big of a mistake for me to gloss over, especially when they told me I was wrong and charged me full price for...

I’ve gone many times over the years to Hair Prince for my haircuts & also my son’s haircuts & perm. Stylists are friendly & knowledgeable.

This review is not based on the stylists itself. Not once during those visit that left me in disappointment until this last visit.

On my lastest visit for a haircut, 05/21/24 I had my hair washed not by the stylist for the first time. I don’t know if this person is in training or a cleaning staff, I saw her do both.

I can tell this person who gave me a hair wash wasn’t experienced. She was rough. She also yanked my hair down.

She did not know how to give clear instructions, I had a hard time understanding her, she kept giving me different directions, and in result of following her directions, I had to keep moving around trying to do what she asked.

Then she got frustrated & yanked my hair, then asked me if I had done this before instead of apologizing for yanking my hair & losing her cool.

That was very unprofessional & unacceptable.

I always try to be understanding and give people the benefit of the doubt. Clearly she didn’t deserve that.

What she did was is unacceptable.

Hair prince needs to train this person more to do better or hire staff that is...

I came in for the first time to get a haircut & perm with Luna, and had a fantastic experience! With my previous hair stylists, I would tell them the style I wanted with my perms while showing them pictures, but they went ahead with the style they felt most comfortable doing and I left dissatisfied, but that was not the case here.

After showing pictures of the style I wanted, she took the time to examine my hair thoroughly before walking through with me her thought process with what she would do and why. She then gave a thorough explanation on how to maintain and style my hair for the best results in the coming weeks, which was a first and greatly appreciated. She also recommended products to use based on my scalp type.

I was there for about 3 hours for haircut + perm, but it was worth every minute as she took her time to make sure the final outcome turned out exactly the way I wanted. I was extremely satisfied with my haircut, and I will definitely be coming back here for future haircuts, and recommend Luna to anyone who is looking for a new hair stylist, or is open to trying a new...
