Have you ever eaten somewhere and enjoyed a delightful meal but then the deception occurred and you became very disappointed in the restaurant. That is what occurred today. We initially enjoyed Anna as our server. She had a great sense of humor and served us very well. I ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo at $10.25 and my wife ordered the Manicotti at $10.25. When we were ordering Anna said the meals included a drink of your choice. I asked if that included soft drinks and she said yes, and that they offered Pepsi products. My wife said she wanted water and I said to her: but your drink includes a soft drink and Anna again said soft drinks were included so my wife said she would have the pink lemonade. I inquired if adding the Chicken was breaded ($4 extra). Anna said no, it was grilled. I said I would pass on the chicken as I preferred it breaded. We each ordered the bread and salad at $3 each. The bread was okay but it tasted like pizza reheated crust with lots of garlic, but the salad was good. I had the homemade Italian tomato dressing which looked and tasted like Campbell tomato soup. The fettuccini was very tasty and the Manicotti was very good. The fettuccini was a large portion so I ate half and boxed the remaining half to take home. We were very excited to find Magone Italian Grill and commented to each other that Yelp served us well and could understand why they had 4 and a half stars reviews. When we checked out the total was $40.25. We figured it out in the car and decided it should have come to less than $30. My wife goes back in to inquire if we had paid someone else’s tab. The owner was not very nice to her, and in fact he was rather rude. Anna had added the chicken, she said the drinks were included but the owner said the soft drinks were $3 each and to add insult to injury they charged 3.5% extra for using a credit card, which they did not to tell us before we checked out. There is not a sign anywhere that says they charge extra for using a credit card. I understand that Anna could have added the chicken but telling us 3 times the drinks were included and then charging us for them is unforgivable. Adding 3.5% without informing us before we used the card is unforgivable. In fact, most restaurants provide an itemized slip before one pays, but she just gave us a total bill so we were caught off guard. I was prepared to give them a highly favorable rating for the quality of the food but the deception and the rudeness of the owner has made me rethink my opinion of Mangone’s. I cannot recommend to my followers, or anyone else, that you patronize...
Read moreMagone Italian Grill & Pizza was a delightful first-time experience! I recently visited with a few friends, and we were all impressed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a casual dinner. I opted for the Philly steak and cheese, and it was fantastic. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the cheese was perfectly melted. It was a generous portion, and I left feeling very satisfied. My friends also enjoyed their meals, which ranged from pasta dishes to pizza, and everyone seemed pleased with their choices.
What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service. Our waitress was incredibly attentive, friendly, and efficient. She made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us regularly without being intrusive. Her positive attitude really enhanced our dining experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Magone Italian Grill & Pizza. It's a great spot for a relaxed meal with friends or family, offering delicious food and excellent service. I'm already looking forward to...
Read moreI saw the other negative review on the 1 star lasagna situation and I’d like to chime in. First off, if you have ONE negative experience but MANY positive ones with a business, why slam them with such a negative review!? You know how bad that can hurt a business!?!! I had a construction business once and would get anxiety over dumb things like that. Wonder how many positive reviews “Mr Lasagna” wrote for Magones?
So, here is mine and it’s all about their delicious lasagna (was absolutely phenomenal) I had over the weekend. My girlfriend got the chicken parm and loved it. I also ordered a caesar salad which was top notch. Born and bred in NY, it’s almost impossible to find a good Italian restaurant in the south. These guys are a very close second, in my opinion. Definitely give them a shot and be objective when reading these negative reviews from the miserable souls out there with nothing better else to do but find company to join...
