My girlfriend and I saw all the positive reviews for this restaurant and were very excited to eat here. Now, $30 poorer, all we are left with is a simmering rage with a smattering of regret. I ordered the Hot Garlic Chicken, she got Moo Shu Soy Chicken, and we got an order of vegetable lo mein to split. I figured at the price, we'd get a decent portion - not the case. I ate my entire entree and was still hungry. The word "bland" doesn't begin to describe this dish. There was no heat at all, and even more anger-inducing, no flavor of any kind. The broccoli was a soggy mess. There was barely any chicken in this dish. My girlfriend's meal was standard tasting, not amazing but not bad. We intended to split the lo mein for a late-night snack... but then our stomachs both exploded. A half-hour after dinner, we were both sitting on the couch with some of the worst stomach aches we have ever had. My girlfriend spent half the night in the bathroom. I am still feeling violently ill. I don't know what the heck they put in this food, but it was naseau inducing. I am very well acquainted with Asian cuisine, and this is not a case of "white guy stomach"; I regularly eat Thai, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc. This was a case of some really overpriced, small portioned, terrible food. Hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants taste better, and do not make one violently ill. I fantasize about returning to this restaurant with a...
Read moreMy co-workers and I ordered to go. One of the worst Chinese restaurants around Chapel Hill. The taste of my Lo-maine was disgusting (tasted like plastic was burned into it). Had to put a bunch of duck sauce to disguise the nasty falvor. I also asked for some white sauce for my co-workers and I, They charge 75 cents per a little container (which is not a problem, it's only $0.75). I told the clerk to charge my credit card for 4 white sauces but she didn't know how to exactly put it on her monitor (she was expecting me to pay her cash). She was taking forever to figure out how to charge me so I left with the food and without my white sauce. Very unsatisfied with the food and service. The only good thing I can say about this restaurant is that they had the food...
Read moreThis has been our family’s go-to Chinese restaurant for a while now, although I have noticed the value slipping a little lately. My “honey walnut shrimp” came with seven shrimp and the container was mostly full with broccoli and mushrooms. Call it what it is; if I order shrimp I expect shrimp. If I knew it would be 90% broccoli and mushrooms I would have ordered something different. Also their beef quality has recently gotten very poor. About half of the beef is inedible due to being too tough and sinewy. When we first started ordering here the beef was much higher quality. The prices of the food, however, have...
