Been eating at Zorbas since the early 80's. I am tired of these restaurants nickle and diming you to death. Ordered a large Jimmy's special and asked for the bacon and ham to be substituted for black olives and mushrooms. So just taking away more costly meat for two veggies. When the check arrives the $18.50 pizza is now $26.99. Instead of substituting the two toppings they made it a build a pizza which was $2.00 per topping. So an $18.50 pizza is now $26.99. Also had a small dinner salad which costs $5.99. These salads used to be at the most $3.99. Anyway you get charged to use a credit card fee which should not be passed on to the customer. Then besides regular tax you get charged a HOSPITALITY TAX which I thought was for hotels. So basically for eating there I am charged almost $5.00 in taxes and fees for just one pizza and a small dinner salad. After tip bill is over $45. And we are supposed to be going to a cashless society??? No way... And to top it all off th e pizza had green peppers on it throughout which ruins the pizza if you don't like them. So with all these nonsense charges and the way they are charging I would not recommend anyone going here.

Excellent food in a family-owned casual, laid-back atmosphere. Service was great, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and quite friendly and attentive. We started our meal with the Stuffed Grape Leaves and Greek Lemon Chicken soup which were both absolutely delicious. The Grape Leaves came with a punchy lemon sauce that was very flavorful and the Lemon Chicken soup had a nicely mild, creamy flavor. Our main courses were the Lamb Chops with mixed veggies and Greek potatoes, and the Chicken Mati which were both marvelous, the Lamb was perfectly cooked and very flavorful, and the chicken pasta was incredibly well done with a delicious creamy sauce that I ended up dipping everything in. We finished our meal with one of their many house-made desserts, our choice was the Black Forest cheesecake which was absolutely devine, a rich cheesecake with cherry pie baked in on top of a moist chocolate sponge cake made this a dessert to die for. Our total for the meal came to about $75 which was more than reasonable for 2 drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees (one being lamb) and a dessert. We will definitely be back at this restaurant any time we're in Chapin!

Service was great! We came for dinner and were seated immediately. We highly recommend the hummus plate. The pita was warm and delicious and the hummus was really good. The bread they brought out for the table was soft and delicious too. The Greek salads were pretty big and the entrees were huge! We all got cake to go. Overall a great experience and we are looking forward to coming back soon!

I have eaten here for several years. Over the last few years the food and service have been increasingly bad. The old saying 3 strikes and you are out apply tonight. First strike was about 6 months ago when we ordered food to go. I ordered the wings that I USED to love. When we got the food home and I opened my wings, which I have to say were a dry rub lemon pepper, they were SWIMMING in GREASE! So much so that I had to remove them from the to go plate and place them on paper towels to try and absorb the grease from them. There was a half inch of grease in the container. This was STRIKE ONE! Fast forward three weeks ago. We decided to give them another try. This time we ate there instead of to go. I ordered the wings again. When I finally got my food, the wings again were swimming in grease! We had ordered an appetizer so thankfully I had a plate to remove them to And Again place them on napkins to absorb the grease. When our waiter came back to our table I showed him the container with all of the grease and told him he might want to let the kitchen know to drain the grease off the wings before serving them. His eyes grew large when he saw the grease in the plastic container that the wings came out in. Did he remove the container, which is a plastic basket with a piece of wax paper in the bottom, from the table? NOPE! He looked at it, even picked it up, and left it on the table. By the time we were done the grease had soaked through the paper and there was a puddle on the table. STRIKE TWO!! Tonight, we decided to go there to have dinner and watch the game. This time I ordered a pizza. Well, our waitress was the only one working the ENTIRE bar area. Took forever for her to take our drink order, then even longer to take our food order. After 30 minutes my pizza was brought to the table which was cold. Not to mention she never brought any silverware or napkins to the table. She did not deliver the food so I asked the young lady delivering the food if I could get a plate and some napkins. I ran out of drink before the waitress ever came by our table to ask if we needed anything. I was finished eating before she came back to ask if my pizza came out ok and at that point I needed a to go box. The owner, Jimmy, was at the restaurant and sitting at the bar drinking with his friends and watching his restaurant and how slack the service is and did absolutely nothing. Apparently he only cares about drinking, smoking his cigars outside with his friends, and making money. STRIKE THREE! Needless to say this will be our last time. If you want to go hang out at the bar, drink with the owner, and sing karaoke then this is the place for you. If you are looking for good food, good service, and a place to enjoy your meal go...

We are new to Chapin (even though we have been in the Columbia area for many years). We were told by many, many folks that this Zorbas was one of, if not the WORST restaurant in Chapin. Naturally, we did not believe what folks had said, we thought "How bad can Zorbas in Chapin really be?" The answer? Really Bad!!!

Background: Today is my wife's birthday and we thought (for some crazy reason) it would be a good day to try Zorbas in Chapin for the first time. We love Greek Food and really wanted to like Zorbas. We also wanted to find another restaurant we could drop into for quick take out.

Unfortunately, it was a Big Mistake. I went into the restaurant to order 3 "Chicken" Slovakia Gyros Sandwich's to go. When we got home, I realized they had given us 3 Gyro "lamb meat" sandwiches (I have never been a fan of lamb!). I thought that was really strange because I knew I had said that I wanted "chicken" and I was confused.

So, I called the restaurant and I explained that we had gotten the wrong sandwich. The lady was very nice, but said because I used the word "Gyro" I got lamb meat - even though they knew (and admitted on the phone) that I said that I wanted "chicken".

I told them that did not make a lot sense to me (especially because I said I wanted "chicken"). Every other restaurant I have been to calls it a chicken gyro. They tried to say because I said the word gyro, that is why I got lamb regardless of the fact that I specifically asked for chicken. Obviously, it seemed like a lame excuse on their part.

I said I am already at home but explained it was a big day because it was my wife's birthday etc. I asked if I come back up to the restaurant, can you swap them out for the Chicken. She put me on hold and checked and came back and said they would be happy to get me the chicken, but we would have to pay FULL PRICE for it. Her response blew me away. I managed to stay very calm the phone, but I was really disappointed in them. I really wanted to like Zorbas, but wow! I wanted to be able to tell folks that they were wrong about Zorbas. Unfortunately, from my experience, they are as bad...

Nice restaurant in the middle of town. I heard they had karaoke on my last night camping at the state park nearby. I arrived and the parking is small cos it was on a corner and the main drag. So lots of traffic coming and going. There is a bar side and restaurant side. Karaoke was on the bar side and I went an hr early to see what the food was like and wait for the fun. It was very busy, I walked around trying to find a spot to sit. I finally found a seat at the bar. three TVs behind the bar had sports and one had local news, but then basketball was on after. Two smaller TVs on one wall had sports, but there were two big TVs in seating area. I mean two 65in TV's facing each other and everyone in the seating area on the floor in the bar with fox news on. And I immediately disliked that. The karaoke guy turned off one TV to use as his lyrics screen for the karaoke, but the other TV stayed on fox news. I don't think sitting in a public space for supper is the best place to have any kind of national news programming. Especially since it's all so polarizing and not the best while trying to enjoy a meal. I just tried to enjoy myself but that huge TV's was distracting cos I sat on the side of the bar still facing it and couldn't move cos it got busy for karaoke. I got the sampler platter and it was delicious. I mean so good. The sauce really made the dolmades pop when I dipped it. And the hummus was nice and creamy. The goat cheese was very dense and I had five nice chunks. It was all so good. The people next to me had some good food too and it smelled wonderful inside especially when the people next to me at the bar had wings and chicken masala. Karaoke was fun and I had a good time. Nice little escape on my last night camping....
