I appreciate Beans coffee shop, the location, nice staff, etc. However, I feel the need to make a few suggestions. Not doing so is a disservice to the community that Beans attempts to serve. I know numerous local folks who don't bother going to Beans due to the issues I'm going to mention, all of which are very easy to fix. First, I must say it's odd to pay for coffee and be handed an empty cup. Sure, at a place like Panera where refills are free and the coffee is no good anyhow makes total sense. Self serve press pots shouldn't be put out in places where refills are not included. But that isn't the only problem with press pots. I purchased a large coffee. The nice staff even warmed the mug because they are aware of how fast the coffee is going to get cold. Still, it was an empty mug. I filled it up and took a cold seat by the window. The coffee was cold before I finished half the mug. But really, the temperature of the coffee is a minor concern compared to the fact that the coffee is far too weak to begin with. The self serve coffee at Beans is no better than the self serve coffee at any gas station in town. A coffee house should be serving up a strong, flavorful, and fresh brew. I have a hunch that the baristas would prefer to pour their customers fresh coffee that they can more easily tend from behind the counter rather than hand people empty cups all day and direct them to the press pots of weak not very fresh coffee. I appreciate what you are trying to do with Beans but serving weak coffee is a disservice to our...
Read moreI visited Beans today at lunchtime. It was a Saturday, so it was pretty crowded as to be expected on a weekend
I placed an online order and specified a sandwich. The other item I wanted was the soup. The online order sheet did not give the actual items that were available today so we just ordered the soup of the day.
I went into the restaurant about 35 minutes after I ordered. There was a line and it was a little longer than usual to get service. I do not have a problem with that. But what I do have a problem with is getting snapped at from the person behind the counter. She told me that I should’ve told them what I wanted online when there wasn’t an option. She seemed annoyed at me and got my order and said “here’s your soup of the day”.
I was a bit taken aback because I have usually had a lot of luck with people being friendly and helpful at this eating establishment. I will give them the benefit of the doubt as this only happened one time. It is definitely worth noting as the business can suffer if this trend continues.
In a county with a lot of very good coffee shops this is just one of many for people to choose. Not a problem for me to find other places to...
Read moreI have been to this coffee shop twice. The first experience was okay, the staff was friendly but the food was not the best, nor the coffee. However the second time, I decided to give it another chance and because my family comes here very often, and was SIGNIFICANTLY dissapointed. I spent $13 on food, and proceeded to ask for a cup of water. I was told they did not have any free cups of water and I could only purchase a water bottle. I then told the cashier that it was not even for me, but my dog who was outside in the 85 degree heat. I was then charged a dollar for small CUP OF WATER. Moving forward, one of the sandwiches we ordered did not come out the way we were expecting. When I asked the cashier she said it was because of the way we ordered it, which i completely understand. However, when I politely mentioned that they should try to help a customer our and make things clearer if they look confused, I was responded to with attitude. This shop has a lot of potential and is very aesthetic, but unfortunately I don’t see myself ever...
