For a Chinese dining restaurant, I have seen better choices in terms of value and taste in Cleveland.
My son and I were driving past Chardon today and thought to stop by the town for some food before heading to out destination. My son searched and picked two places. Unfortunately, his first choice was closed (it opens only for breakfast and lunch). So we headed to his 2nd choice.
The restaurant is conveniently located near the town square. It has a small presence of you look from the street. It is spacious inside. When we stepped inside, the chshier seemed to be lost and did know how to react to our presence. At that time, there are only two tables occupied and the place is largely empty. After a few awkward seconds of silence, I guessed with hands of "two", which seems waking up the cashier, and she started preparing to lead us to a table.
We ordered two dishes. The taste is OK but is less desirable than the restaurants in Cleveland. The portion is kind of small. The prices are a lillte high. For the two dishes, total charge with taxes is $36.
The service is OK and I have seen better service in Cleveland too.
Not try to be critical given it is in a "small" town, but was not happy with the overall experience, i.e., taste, portion,...
Read moreThere’s more than one Chinese restaurant in this town and I suggest you choose the other. This is based on four separate attempts. The only reason for multiple visits would be because my girlfriend likes the Pork Fried Rice here.
Food is fair to midland - nothing special so don’t anticipate being “wowed”. Service is fair though the young blond lady at the front on the weekends is less than pleasant. Make sure you have time to wait as well, especially if you call and place an order by phone. Quoted 20-25 minutes and it’ll be closer to 40 minutes. This last round is going on 45 minutes and counting.
The decor is severely outdated and nothing special so no stars for uniqueness. Carpet is due to be replaced for sure. Yangtze earned 2 stars because the duck isn’t bad at all. Try the other place in town would be my...
Read moreWent for dinner last night to this restaurant and we were really surprised by the wonderful service and delicious food. We ordered a dinner for two combo and both got soup, I got hot sour and Rowdy got egg drop. Both very good. Next was appetizers, we both got an egg roll and a BBQ sparerib and it was the first time I had a sparerib and it was superb. The egg roll was stuffed with just the right amount of vegetables and was served with a sweet sour duck sauce that I believe to be homemade, extremely tasty. Main courses were General Tso and Kung Po Chicken and it did not disappoint. Just the right amount of heat. I could only ask them to add a bigger bar, bring in mixed drinks and it would be perfect! Great job, we...
