The restaurant was very clean and the staff was so friendly. The interior makeover was a huge shift from the Chardon maple leaf. Itâs modern well lit and in good taste. However the food was something closer to what you would find at a mall. I am an avid sushi lover and got my simple usuals and a specialty roll. The quality was not what I am used to. The fish almost had a ground type of texture like something out of a cats food can labeled, âPatĂ©â. There was tempura flakes rolled in which made it so salty and strange. It seems like a very âAmericanizedâ take on traditional Japanese food. The fried rice and chicken literally tasted like the mall food we get for like 8 bucks at the Great Lakes Mall. For the same price you can drive up to the square and get Square Bistros sushi and have a much better experience. This place was very overpriced for the quality of food on your plate.
Itâs a nice restaurant for some high school kids to have a date night or to take your, âscared of sushi grandmaâ for a family outing. But not the place to try traditional delicious top quality...
Read moreAmazing gem located in small town Chardon. Tucked in the Maple Leaf plaza off of Water St. is the most amazing sushi and hibachi restaurant. Walking inside, are remnants of the old Maple Leaf Restaurant which occupied the same space for decades prior. The inside has been completely remodeled with grays, blacks and whites for a modern appearance. Beautiful flooring and decor throughout.
The sushi and sashimi is A+++ across the board. Once you visit, youâre practically family. They have remembered me every single visit and even my favorite sashimi, Uni. Additionally, they always have my saki as well Ozeki Nigori unfiltered. The service is second to none. Attentive, knowledgeable and kind at every encounter. The menu is extensive with common items and some you wonât find at big name places downtown! Of course they have their custom rolls as well. If youâre in Chardon and craving sushi, give this place a shot! If youâre not close, itâs...
Read moreWe have been going to Hyashi monthly for years now and we are never disappointed. As far as we are concerned it is a hidden gem in the Chardon community! They have an amazing drink selection to start. We love the Mai Tais and Mimosas! They have hibachi choices with traditional seafood or steak as well as a huge sushi selection. They have a bunch of specialty rolls over 40 to choose from! We have tried at least 25 and are always satisfied!
Besides the food being great, the atmosphere is comfortable. They have nice mood lighting, a great bar to sit at with televisions for sports viewing, and it's always clean. The staff is enjoyable and the service is usually very quick. We highly recommend that if you live in Chardon or you're just passing through to put Hyashi Maple on your list of places to...
