Who doesn't love Wendy's when they want fast food?! I got the double "Baconator" and a medium fries, Dad got a "Son of Baconator" and a senior drunk. The gentleman who took our order at the drive-thru was nothing short of fantastic. He took the order and entered it accurately, and when we pulled around to the window he was friendly and very engaging and just a heck of a really nice guy...so much so that I would go so far as to say that he is exactly what all drive-thru cashiers/employees should model themselves after. He should start a business as a consultant on how to treat customers and make them feel welcome and appreciated. I wish I'd thought to get his name at the time so I could call him out on here for the awesome job he did. When we went to the second window to pick up our food, it was handed to us pretty much immediately. As I pulled away from the second window I reached into the bag to snitch some fries only to find that there were none in the bag. I looked at the receipt and, sure enough, the gentleman who took the order had rung the fries up and we paid for them so it was not his fault but the girls at the second window who didn't give us our full order. We couldn't just back up as there were several cars behind us so we drove back around the building and pulled up to the second window, again, after the other cars left and told the girl there that we didn't get our fries. She asked what size and once I told her a minute or so later she came back with a small bag with the fries in it and gave the generic "sorry 'bout that" (that we've all heard hundreds of times at drive-thrus where it's obvious the person couldn't care less and says that as a default comment) and closed the window again and disappeared. It's just too bad, too, because this could've been a five-star review across the board due to how good the food was and how awesome the gentleman at the first window was. Aside from that, though, the food was greasy, messy, and delicious...EXACTLY how a burger should be! The fries were even fresh! I did need to use the facilities so I went inside and found the restroom was spotlessly clean in the portion I was in, and upon entering the building and leaving the building found the dining room and customer areas to be very clean and open enough that a person in a wheelchair would have no problem maneuvering inside and the restroom was handicap accessible as well. Come on, Wendy's!! This could've been a five-star rating across the board had someone just read the items of the order from the computer or ticket and then simply looked in the bag!! There really isn't any excuse with the technology in fast food restaurants for someone's order to be incomplete, ESPECIALLY when it was such a ridiculously small order. Imagine going to a drive-thru and ordering only a burger. It's rung up correctly, you pay for it, go to the next window, and are handed an empty bag. That's about the equivalent of what happened, really. But, aside from that it was a top notch experience and the food was great. Give the gentleman at the first drive-thru window a raise and some kind of award because he was top notch and about as common...
Read moreWe stopped on July 19, 2022 in between stops in and around Chardon and ordered our food after not having had Wendy's in a while. What followed was the worst Fast Food experience of my life. We got our food and drink and the workers were nice, but a quick sip of the pop (soda) and it was terrible. My wife and kids tested their pop too and had the same issue, so I pulled back into the drive-through line. When I informed the worker in the speaker we heard a young girl's voice rudely say "what's their problem?" on the other end and lectured us about the "sign" they posted on the ordering screen - photo attached. She told us that no refunds would be given and that only a water or tea would be traded out for the terrible pop, which they did not describe correctly as it was not "flat" - it was tasteless. I tried to politely mention that the sign was not an effective means of communication given it is white and plain around vibrant colors and, let's be honest, when you are looking for a quick bite to eat most people are not searching for a piece of paper taped above the screen to see what is wrong today. My attempts to have a polite discussion were thwarted by more rudeness.
The situation got far worse at the window as we decided we needed something to drink, even if just water. Now two girls were at the window and I said to the girl who took my money originally that "whoever I just spoke to on the speaker was rude and should not be working in customer service." The dark-haired girl with glasses was then as rude as ever. When I asked to speak to a manager, she claimed she was the manager so I asked for her name and she said "I'm not giving you my name, I am a minor." I told her she should use a more customer-friendly tone and she snapped back. I have never seen anyone handle a food service job so poorly in my life. This reflects poorly on the General Manager who hired and put their trust in this girl, and Wendy's as a corporation.
In the end you have long-time customers with no desire to go back to this Wendy's or any other. Our money was taken by this company and we did not get what we paid for, and I guarantee I am not the only one with an experience like this. I am never the one to throw a fit after a bad eating experience as we have all had them, but this one was the extreme that is worth noting. I understand customer service and signage/design/communication in my profession, owning and running multiple businesses over 15+ years, and I would give the customer service the lowest grade possible in this case. I appreciate the attempt at the sign on the speaker, and I am sure they had limited resources, but it simply was not an effective way to get the...
Read moreWe were the only people in the restaurant. I actually had a craving for a Wendy's burger. We were served old nasty tasting fries. I did ask for fresh ones and were given some, NOT as many that were served the first time. My burger was lukewarm not hot. As we were sitting there a worker was complaining very loudly about a customer in the drive through. How they were unhappy about their fries! I said to my husband, well they were old of course they did. To sit in the restaurant and listen to an employee talk very LOUDLY about a customer poorly was not right! The "manager" was actually a kid, when I say kid I mean 20 or younger, she did get me more fries and was trying to be a manager but should have nipped it in the bud. I feel like they need better management. Then I bought a frosty. First, when did they change that? Not as chocolate as I remember. Didn't taste the same. Secondly, the order came to 3.09, I gave the girl 5. She gave me back 3.10. I said this is not right, your drawer will be wrong. She said no that is OK keep it. I went back to my husband and then a couple minutes later hear her say to another employee, hey someone tell me what is 3.09 from 5? This is very sad. Someone from Wendy's need to tell the employees that customers in the restaurant can hear them, ESPECIALLY IF NO ONE ELSE IS IN THE RESTAURANT!
UPDATE: 6/2/2023 HUSBAND WANTED SO WE WENT. FOOD Was COLD!!! FRIES AGAIN WERE OLD AND COLD AND NASTY!! ALOT OF MONEY FOR NOTHING!
