⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely loved my experience at Alcove Market! Tucked away on Broad Street, this place feels like a true hidden gem in downtown Charleston. I tried the Koji Burger and the Turkey Avocado Wrap—both were outstanding in their own ways. The Koji Burger was one of the most flavorful burgers I’ve had in a long time. The patty was juicy and rich with umami flavor, and the toppings were fresh and well-balanced. It’s clear they put thought into every element of the burger—it’s not your average sandwich! The Turkey Avocado Wrap was just as impressive—light, refreshing, and full of flavor. The wrap itself was soft and held together well, and the turkey was high quality. The creamy avocado, fresh greens, and subtle seasoning made it the perfect choice if you're looking for something a bit lighter but still satisfying. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. The space has a clean, modern vibe that makes it great for grabbing a bite, catching up with a friend, or even working for a bit if you’re on the go. Highly recommend Alcove Market if you’re looking for quality food, friendly service, and a relaxed atmosphere in the heart of Charleston!

Alcove Market absolutely blew us away. Hands down the best hamburger in Charleston—perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. The fried chicken sandwich? Also top-tier. Crispy, tender, and just the right amount of kick. We also tried the wraps and they were fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. And let’s talk about the wine prices—unbelievably reasonable. It’s rare to find a place where you can grab a great glass without breaking the bank. On top of all that, the service was warm, welcoming, and fast. This place is a gem—a must-not-miss when you're in Charleston. Can't wait to go back. Oh, and DOG FRIENDLY patio! Go here.

Paid $8 ($10 if you include tip) for 2 double shots of espresso. I was a barista for years and charging $4 for a double shot is borderline criminal. I probably wouldn't be writing this review if the shots were good, but there wasn't even a crema on either (attaching a photo for reference). If you're charging $4 for a double shot, it better be PERFECT. It was nasty. The only reason I'm not leaving only 1 star is because the girl working the register was lovely. I have been to Alcove many times, always hoping that my experience will be better. It never is. This was my last visit. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I’ve eaten here quite a few times, and have held off on writing a review until I was sure things weren’t one time mistakes. The biggest complaint I have is that everything is priced at a high end coffee shop price, but does not deliver at high end quality. The pastries are not fresh every day, bagels are usually multiple days old and stale, and the coffee is just mediocre. All this would be okay if they weren’t charging so much money. The local coffee and pastry shops that are at a similar price point in the area are Sorelle, Holy City Bagels, Babas, Harken, and others. All these places have extremely fresh food and great tasting coffee. I want to like Alcove, but they need to improve their ingredients, coffee, and pastry quality before I can justify going here over other places in Charleston.

I think they really need to focus on the simple things first. If a high end coffee shop such as Alcove can’t have the most basic items such as fresh bagels and smooth coffee, then why charge such...

A few weeks ago, I had trouble placing a group order for a work event through DoorDash. Unfortunately, DoorDash was partially functioning, so I decided to pick up the phone and call the wonderful team at Alcove Market. They informed me that the DoorDash server had been finicky all morning and kindly offered to place the remainder of my order over the phone. It was pouring rain, but when I arrived, their lovely team had everything prepped and ready for me! Aubrey and Jackie displayed the utmost thought, kindness, and resourcefulness towards me. Jackie even helped me carry the large order to the car in the pouring rain. The food was absolutely amazing, too! Highly recommend the crew and experience at...
