My friend wanted to attend a Christmas concert by the King's Counterpoint on Dec. 18, 2022. I believe this is their 9th annual program of sacred and secular music spanning 900 years. This expertly restored cathedral was the perfect setting for the mostly acapella performance. The clarity of the vocal tones was remarkable, though hearing the classic organ was also a treat. After intermission, the choir was joined by the youth of Goose Creek Chamber Choir. Soulful elements and rhythm added to the experience at that point and climaxed in a couple of classic carols. Read moreThis is a really beautiful cathedral in a area of Charleston that isn't really near anything else. To be honest, it was really nice to go in for some air conditioning after having walked outside in the heat for a long time. Air conditioning aside, the inside is beautiful... They are also planning a renovation to make the decor closer to what it used to look like. Now, everything has been painted white. There is a section where you can see what it will all look like when completed.
