This is a great place to come eat your lunch at and then walk it off! They have good parking overlooking the lake which is always so placid and serine. There are always plenty of water found in the lake and many dog walkers to look at along with their dogs. I have been there both rain and shine and have yet to be disappointed. There are always an assortment of people kayaking, fishing, walking, jogging, or just plain looking at the water. There is rarely a big crowd. If you work around here such as the Medical University or Roper Saint Francis you will enjoy the walk to and fro during your lunch break. This is definitely a place to stop through while...

I love how the lake is still standing as of now! This is the real Charleston right here! Not only does the lake have just that, there are also benches so that you can take a few seconds or minutes to see the lake from a distance of 10 feet! Now be careful because around it, there are no safety rails for children to accidentally drown themselves 20 feet below and cause them to die! Please make sure that your child is with you at all times! Dogs? The same rules...

You could see my more detailed review in the sections on restrooms, playgrounds picnic area, etc. but colonial Lake is a great meditative walking area. It’s rather short doesn’t have any shade no protection from the wind but on a hot day, it is one of the best places to walk because he’s always gets a lot of wind. It is dog friendly as long as they’re on a leash they’re just nowredoing all of the landscaping and so I would imagine they would be done somewhere...

My favorite place in town to get a little extra exercise. The renovated paths around the lake are great for a fast bicycle - you can do laps and laps and laps and avoid the pedestrians with ease since it is so wide and has several paths around the gardens. Rumor has it this used to be a shipping canal stretching all the way to the harbor. I think it was a wise move turning it into the beautiful park it is today.

It's a very peaceful place where you can go to clear your head, go for a walk/run, take your kids or even your fur baby for a stroll, I've even seen some people fishing. Then if you'd like to be a bit more active there are tennis courts. Last but not least this location has free WiFi so if you need to finish up some last minute papers and don't want to sit indoors this is definitely the spot to go 😁

This is a beautiful park, very pleasant, lovely flowers. The lake is big and it is also a place to fish, exercise, walk your dog or just relax on the bench. There is a tennis court across the street and a basketball court for your pleasure. However, I did not see a bathroom or could not locate it. I do recommend this park and plan to visit again.
