Tl;dr: A mixed bag. Certain things were REALLY good, some things had glaring issues.
We stopped in after a day at the beach--nobody was going to make it back to the hotel. We got in and were seated quickly, and it wasn't long before we had water and the first part of our order in. Hubs got one of their special cocktails (I can't remember what it was... something with pea flower powder???!) and it was WAY yummy. Our fried green tomatoes were out quickly, along with our kiddo's fried mac n cheese. She ate with relish, enjoying her fresh fruit side until the triangles of cheesy goodness cooled enough to gobble down.
The FGT's were good; very crunchy, topped with delicious pimento cheese spread and a drizzle of bbq. They were sort of addictive, and while I want more sitting here thinking about them, the tomatoes themselves were sliced so thin you couldn't taste them at all. Soooo if you want a tomato-y fried green tomato, these aren't them. If you're just looking for a really tasty bite for an appetizer, these are excellent.
While we waited for our entrees, I ordered one of the pineapple drinks (again, can't remember the name, but the menu said it was garnished with pineapple). It was served with a pineapple leaf--like the spikes you pull off to see if it's ripe. Odd, I thought, not a fan of useless garnish, but whatever----the drink was frothy from being shaken, and without thinking, I gave it a quick stir and went to lick off the leaf (not edible, I know, but it was in the drink and covered in tasty bubbles! It was a knee-jerk impulse!). Bad idea. Pineapple leaves are SHARP, and my over-sensitive, twitchy nervous system was all that saved me from slicing my lip open. I know. Inedible. But why is there an inedible garnish in my drink, stuck in far enough to look like it's supposed to be useful and stuff?! Big ding from me on that one, because while it wasn't bad, I did cut myself enough for the drink to sting.
The food was another oddly polar experience. Hubs got the flounder po'boy, which was huge with a massive, though thinner, piece of crispy fried fish. I got the fish n chips, which was beer battered flounder. My pieces were thicker, but the breading was weirdly rubbery, kind of soggy, and decidedly un-crunchy. I was perplexed. The fish inside was cooked perfectly though--well seasoned, flavorful, moist, and flaky. Sooo I pulled all the breading off and ate my fish. It was good enough that I didn't complain, especially since I hadn't really wanted another breaded item (there wasn't any sort of broiled fish option)... but if I had actually wanted a serious, crisp piece of fish, it would've been hugely disappointing.
Sooooo.... Yeah. Back and forth. Our server, while pleasant, seemed a little bit green when it came to handling things. Obviously, something was up with my fish (she saw me pulling it apart well before I had finished the excavation process) but didn't seem to know how to address it. The pineapple leaf incident also seemed to leave her a little uncertain; as someone with pretty extensive FOH experience, there's no way I'd have a table with a guest cut from food without a check-in from SOMEBODY....Be it the bartender, manager, or some one. But it wasn't really addressed beyond telling me I "wasn't supposed to eat that." (😑 "I know.... I just went to lick it off after using it to stir the drink...")
Soooooo yeah. Conflicted over this one. Whoever is coming up with their cocktails has a great hand for the actual mixing, but holy cow with the deadly, pointless garnish. Some food was excellent, though maybe not quite what we wanted/expected. Service was generally pleasant and prompt, but seemed unsure of how to handle potential problems.
Worth another try? Probably, if we're out that way again. But we probably wouldn't make a...

Let's start with cocktails 🍸 I had the Pickled Me Pink Martini and the flavors were absolutely perfect! The pickled onion hits after the refreshing sip of the drink but is very subtle. I'm not one to typically go for dry martinis and this is not like that at all. All I can say is, try it! You might be pleasantly surprised, like I was!
🍸I also had the Mango Habanero Margarita and it was ALSO so good. I suspect most of their cocktails are. This was the perfect blend of spicy and tangy without all the sugary hangover-in-the-making you'd expect from a regular margarita. And it was pretty! 🍹Update Tonight I had the Cucumber Nonalcoholic Drink (I can't find the name). It was $8 and had a nice light flavor but I felt like a little too much ginger ale flavor. I probably wouldn't get it again. I couldn't taste the cucumber at all. End update
Kids had the shrimp and fries (5 grilled shrimp) and grilled chicken and fries (heads up, grilled chicken was served with red pepper flakes, and my kid wouldn't eat it because it was "too spicy"... To be fair, it was spicy.) Thankfully, they have "good ranch" and that helped!
Hubby had Fish n Chips. I was a big fan of the tartar sauce because you could taste the dill! The fish was nice and crispy. He devoured it.
I had the Chimi Chimi Burger and Oh. My. Gosh. It was a flavor explosion!! It did have a bit of a kick, but the beer cheese along with the arugula and bacon jam all came together for an unforgettable burger experience. 😗 I would definitely come back for this burger but now I really want to try the other burgers!! 🍔 I had mine with a side of pasta salad and it was also really surprisingly good! Lots of flavor and cheese chunks.
The service was super friendly and quick... Just what you need on a hot day when everyone is hangry. 🤣
From the road, I would have never guessed this place had what it did to offer... Including a full back patio with lots of space for dogs and kids to run around. We will definitely be...
