Finally stopped by this local bakery, I don't think I'll buy bread from the supermarket ever again. Pictured is their Blue Monday loaf(soft, buttery and sliced in the store), three types of their bagels (plain, salted, and poppy seed), and not pictured was a cheese Danish and a raspberry cream cheese Danish that we sampled when we got to the car, they were buttery sweet and flaky, the homemade raspberry jam is something special. #amazing They open at 7am most days, I would stop by early before they sell out. I've never seen a bakery so full of customers at 4pm.

I grew up with bread from the grocery store, so going to a bakery weekly in order to get our bread supply was a novelty. It quickly turned into a habit, and there’s no turning back. The bread choices are all delicious, and we love the sourdough varieties best. The bagels are the best I’ve ever had, the baguettes crispy and buttery and oh so versatile. The cookies and other treats are also delicious. I don’t have a photo of the bread or store, but here’s our girl enjoying the last of the baguette. Highly recommend.

Today was the first time I had ever stopped into the Charleston Bread Company on Capitol Street in Charleston.

It's located down at the end near the Farmer's Market in the old Charleston Train Depot (Historical Site) The store is simple yet inviting on the outside. Inside very simple and bare

There is several employees that you can see hard at work doing their needed task to make this amazing bread!! The aroma is delicious in its own right...who doesn't enjoy the smells of baking bread....my nostrils are perking up sending happy endorphins to my brain....within seconds I'm in my own grandmother's kitchen!!!

I was greeted by very sweet and helpful employee. I explained it was my first visit and she gladly answered my questions. I purchased a loaf of Charleston Sourdough (wheat) and looked over the homemade Pastas and Pesto and said my goodbyes!

Immediately outside of shop, I quickly dove into my bag to sample my purchase... definitely going back!! Even without butter or heat, this bread was superb.....can't wait until my next purchase...

Review for The Bakery Store

I recently had the pleasure of ordering takeout from The Bakery Store, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience! From the moment I placed my order to the first bite of their delicious baked goods, everything was seamless and delightful.

The variety they offer is impressive—whether you're in the mood for fresh bread, pastries, or cakes, they have it all. I tried their croissants and a loaf of sourdough bread, and both were absolutely divine. The croissants were buttery and flaky, while the sourdough had the perfect texture and tang.

The service was equally exceptional. The staff was friendly, efficient, and ensured my order was ready on time. They even packaged everything carefully so nothing got squished or damaged during transport.

If you're looking for a top-notch bakery with incredible flavors and excellent customer service, The Bakery Store is the place to go. I can't wait to return and try more of their amazing treats! Highly...

I recently bought bread from this shop and absolutely loved it. The flavor is rich yet light, making each bite surprisingly addictive without feeling heavy or greasy. It’s the kind of bread that keeps you reaching for another slice without any guilt.

This was my first time purchasing here, and I was truly impressed by both the taste and the overall quality. The texture is soft and fresh, showing clear attention to ingredients and baking methods. It’s a wonderful balance of aroma and flavor that stands out from other bakeries I’ve tried.

I sincerely hope the shop maintains this same recipe and quality, because I can easily see myself coming back often to enjoy it again. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates fresh, flavorful bread that’s anything...
