Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Charleston

Do NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!! I promise you will be disappointed!! After waiting about 20mins in the drive thru we finally got our food & drove off. After tasting both me and my husbands Smoothie we immediately realized something was wrong with them. ( they were disgusting) luckily we were down the street & turned back because we figured maybe they just forgot some ingredients. We went back inside and told them the issue and they made us some more smoothies. However the smoothie that I got still tasted the same. The only smoothie that i ever get is the ( Avacolada) I know how it’s supposed to taste & it was definitely missing something. After we told the employee that it still did not taste good she had a blank stare on her face and the other employee stepped in and asked what did it seem like it was missing? We told her that maybe it needed some more sugar? She said ok and the other employee began making me yet another Avacolada. While she was in the process of making the smoothie her co worker reminded her that she almost forgot the sugar. The employee goes to pour the sugar in the smoothie and just completely drowns it in sugar. Her coworker says to her that’s enough! Needless to say the smoothie was undrinkable!! I've tried so many times to give this place a chance because I love every Tropical Smoothie location I've been to OTHER than this one, and this is the closest one to my house. No more. I went through the drive-thru with my son at noon on a Saturday. After waiting over 20 minutes in the drive-thru, the vehicles behind me started backing up and leaving. I was at the window, so I decided to wait. Approaching 30 minutes, I knocked at the window to ask if I could at least have the melting smoothie I had been staring at in the window for nearly 10 minutes because my son was hungry and getting fussy. We finally got our stuff, only to see they had left off my son's chips and put chicken on his cheese quesadilla, so I had to park and go inside to get this corrected. They apologized, saying too many orders came in at once, but there was no one inside. Once I pulled off, 45 in at this point, I finally open my Thai Chicken Wrap to find it, also, is not what I ordered. I can't even tell what type of wrap it was supposed to be, but it was about 50% pickled red onions. I had to throw it out. This place just needs to go ahead and close down and make room for something else...

Been here twice. First time was wonderful. But this time was horrible! The guy with a stubble beard that was at the window was so rude! I get that it’s frustrating and overwhelming to be new (which I’m assuming he was based on how he didn’t know what the rewards app was and if the store took Apple Pay) but it’s no excuse to be so rude to people.

I pull up to the window, wait for him to open (which already took a second but I didn’t care cause I wasn’t in a rush). I show him my phone and tell him I would like to scan for points. He’s confused, closes the window, takes a hot minute checking how to take it I guess, then opens the window and does and says nothing. I tell him that’s alright if your scanner doesn’t work I’ll just take the receipt (I have not paid yet).

THEN he gets super curt and goes “dude just cash or card?” Like I was inconveniencing him by trying to scan? It’s not like I shoved my phone in his face and said nothing. I was very kind the whole time.
