Ace No. 3 Belmont Village — Restaurant in Charlotte

I was taken here by an office colleague and I am extremely happy he did! Not only is the service outstanding, but the burgers are amazing! When you go to a place that only has a handful of menu items, you know it has to be good and this place definitely is!

When we arrived, the staff opened the door for us, which is something I've never experienced at a "fast-food" establishment, not even Chick-fil-A does that😉. Though I'm sure this is not a best practice when they are extremely busy (though it was decently busy when we went), it just shows the level of accommodation this restaurant makes for it's customers.

I ordered the Ace since it is their signature burger and it might just be the best local burger I've had, and that says a lot since as you can probably see from my other reviews I've gone to a lot of local burger establishments and I'm rather picky with my burger criteria. In this case, the burger was juicy, had great seasoning that wasn't overwhelming, the cheese was quality and thoroughly placed, the beef was quality and well-seasoned but not overdone, the bun was perfect for the burger type and didn't distract from the flavors of the meat, cheese and seasoning, and last but definitely not least was the "come back sauce" on the burger was absolutely a perfect blend to all the other flavors and delicious enough to help it rise to one of the top burgers I've ever eaten.

The staff also went above and beyond by proactively telling me they added their dijon mustard to my order since he knew it would enhance the flavor of the fried onions I ordered as my side. Being that I am a huge sauce person, this also enhanced my perception of this restaurant since they were not only very informative, helpful with their recommendations, and extremely friendly, but they were purposefully thoughtful in how they could best service me and my colleague.

My colleague ordered the junior burger and tots which he said was probably the best burger he's hd in the Charlotte area, which is even more impressive since it was simply meat, cheese and bun. When there are only a few ingredients required to make one of the best tasting burgers, that's when you know the food is quality!

The atmosphere is also quaint and it almost feels like a neighborhood establishment considering the level of service provided and how intimate the place is...which is even more impressive considering everyone was wearing a mask and was socially distancing due to COVID-19.

I will absolutely be bringing my family and friends to this place...

Denise and Portia both of the managers at both the Belmont and Concord location are doing an excellent job! I had a small issue but got it resolved expeditiously! By far the best customer service I have seen in a LONG LONG TIME! This place is going to be open for A LONG time here in Concord. The food is great and actually tastes better for you than any other restaurant. It tastes like if Red Robin had a smarter, healthier, and overall better cousin. The food was not extra greasy, it was clean, vegetables were the freshest I’ve seen on a burger!! The BUN TASTES AMAZING. Best cheese in the concord area by far. It was melted to perfection! I’m amazed and knocked off my feet. Hopefully the prices go down for more of the general public and working class to be able to get it as dinner every 4 nights or so. A "Best Burger" joint without the pretense. ACE No. 3 has earned its place with its food, not with a franchise affiliation. The signature item, the Ace burger, is a smashed burger with the typical double patty and cheese, pickle, and onion assembly but throws out the ketchup and mustard combo for its own Comeback Sauce. The quality ingredients and complimentary flavor makes this burger unique from others in the $8 burger space.

The sides bring their own voice, coming out crisp, salty, and crunchy without being greasy. The shoestring style fries seem to be lightly battered before frying which gives them their crisp texture, and they are slightly thinner than those of their competitors which helps give them a lighter feel instead of a weightier and greasier fry.

The downside to the restaurant itself is simply its smaller space and limited options for parking. At prime rush hours, you may see yourself in lines out the door and around the corner, while street parking in the near-residential area may be hard to find. As of Summer 2020, limited dine-in space is available but the best bet for quickest service is to order from take-out or car-side options.
