I see all of these reviews and believe that I must have gone on an off evening. This was our first time eating here and we ordered quite a few items for take out. The Falafel was dry, and hard as a rock. (Completely inedible). The Greek salad was swimming in dressing and soggy by the time we got it home. It was also chopped very small which is not at all like a traditional Greek Salad. The Adana Kabob, the Chicken Kabob and the rice were all very good but the Mix Shawarma Entree was absolutely horrible! The shredded Chicken was dry and hard, and the shredded Beef was so dry and tough, we could not eat it! It tasted more like a cheap, tough sirloin than the Ribeye it is claimed to be. It couldn’t even be chewed. We threw it in the trash. My family is Middle Eastern and we were hoping for better food. Even the Pita tasted like it had been frozen then microwaved. It was tough, and inedible. We threw it away. We were happy with both Kabobs, but with having to add the Roasted Tomatoes, and Pita Bread as extras, we definitely did not get our...
Read moreWe visited from Atlanta for the Art Festival in the Park, and after the first night we were hungry. My wife found Al-Basha Halal Grill.
When we walked in, I expected just another restaurant, but much more. Zee (or Aziz, if I remember correctly) greeted us with warmth and kindness. He gave great recommendations, explained the dishes we had questions about and checked on us often. Zee treated every guest with the same friendliness, humor, and genuine care.
The food was incredible, the Green Mamba was amazing! The Watermelon smoothie was so good we went back for a large one. The next morning, I was literally doing a happy dance while eating the leftovers! Before we leave, we’re planning to return and try the Lentil soup Zee recommended.
The vibe reminded me of a Sabbath dinner or family dinner. The chef came out and greet a couple they seemed to know, and when a large family came in, Zee gave them the same heartfelt love he gave us. We love...
Read moreI came to this Al-Basha already planning to order a falafel plate, but the owner suggested I try The Green Mamba wrap instead. I’m so glad I took his advice, because WOW. It was absolutely incredible.
Every bite was bursting with flavor. You can literally taste each ingredient, from the perfectly crisp falafel to the fresh herbs and veggies. The coriander seeds especially stood out which added a unique, aromatic kick that elevated the whole wrap.
I also had their blended lemon mint drink, which was the perfect complement to the food. It was refreshing and absolutely delicious.
I genuinely wish they had a location in New Jersey because this would become a weekly ritual for me. I'm just grateful I’m in Charlotte for the whole week..I'll definitely be back before I leave!
If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and eat here. You can tell this food is made with...
