Taco Bell — Restaurant in Charlotte

I recently had a concerning experience at the Taco Bell located at 1800 E Woodlawn Rd, Charlotte, NC 28209 . As a delivery driver, I arrived at the restaurant and walked in to pick up an order, but after waiting 8 minutes I was refused service in the lobby despite the presence of multiple delivery drivers waiting for their orders. The manager, Lisa, told me with an attitude and in a completely unprofessional manner that I would have to leave and go through the drive-thru to receive my order.

What makes this situation particularly alarming is that I feel it was unfair treatment based on my race. As an "other race" person, I have never personally experienced discrimination or mistreatment. However, it was clear to me that other delivery drivers, who were predominantly black, were being served in the lobby while I was being turned away. I felt deeply uncomfortable and concerned about the possibility of racial bias.

While I understand that businesses have the right to make certain policies and decisions, refusing service to a customer based on their race is not only unacceptable but it is also illegal. I hope that the management team at this Taco Bell will take this issue seriously and work to ensure that all customers, regardless of their race or ethnicity, are treated with respect and provided with efficient service.

I’ve had food from this one many times. Order has always been correct. I’m vegan so that’s pretty important to me. Tonight I tried ordering my stuff “fresco style” which is their shorthand for no-cheese-no-sour-cream add pico de gallo. There were stray cheese shreds in the pico de gallo, noticed in the taco. Now I’m hoping they didn’t use the same pico in the crunchwrap. But they probably did, and it bums me out to know that I’ve ingested animal products, in any amount. But yeah I’d give 5 stars if it weren’t for that minor issue. Just if you’re vegan I’d avoid the pico de gallo, that’s what I’m gonna do from now on. Edit—the other day I went inside and ordered two crunch wraps vegan. Was very clear, showed the cashier a visual representation of what I wanted, and stated “no meat/dairy” so I could be sure I’d get what I wanted. And I was starving so when I got home I doused one wrap in sauce and took a big bite. I can’t explain how disgusted I was to see the cheese and sour cream in the wrap and feel it in my mouth. Yeah I spit it out and called and yelled at them. They remade my stuff and I went and got it. Was kind of a wake up call that I should just avoid eating fast food like this, anyway. I probably won’t be hitting up this taco bell for vegan crunch wraps anymore. You know how one bad experience can ruin you on a place. Yeah, that happened with me...

Best customer service in the city!!! The food is always so delicious!!! They always do such a superb job putting together everything!! I love the high quality ingredients! Way way better than any other Taco Bell I have ever been to. It is the only Taco Bell I will go to because it is the best one in town. It is well worth the drive! The food is so fresh and tasty and the portions are very generous!! The staff here all have a really big heart. They really care about people and them having a positive experience in their restaurant! They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and satisfied! I hate all of these dishonest hateful reviews people have written about this place! People are not genuine and love to hate on those who are. it's unfortunate.
