Bossy Beulah's Freedom Drive — Restaurant in Charlotte

We were pleasantly surprised by this small chicken restaurant.

We got there at opening and the cars started pulling in immediately. That was a good sign of things to come.

The cashier takes your order at the counter and pickup is at the far end of the same counter. It is an open kitchen so you can see everything going on.

Everyone working was very friendly and they made sure to get our food out quickly. We ordered a Beaut with cheese, hot thigh sandwich, fries, and chicken wings. Before we could fill our drinks and have a seat our order was hot and ready to go.

All of the food was excellent. They were seasoned really well and the proportions were good for the price. I've attached a picture of the menu with prices. The menu is small but they do a great job perfecting those limited items.

The dining room is small but inviting. There is tons of natural light, a selection of high top or traditional seating, and also outdoor seating available.

They have 2 bathrooms at the entrance. These bathrooms are for 1 person at a time. They are large and clean.

All in all, this is a great place for a quick bite. They have some of the best chicken sandwiches in the area. Definitely, stop by and...

Won't be coming back. Food was actually pretty good, but my experience has soured me on the site. Now, before I get into this, I need to acknowledge that we are human and that mistakes are understandable and, I personally am happy to forgive human error. On to my experience: I came in around 1:15/1:30PM, and placed my order. I then sat down to watch them prepare the food (nice touch with the open kitchen). I watched the staff there proceed to serve my order to the couple that came after me. Annoying, but no biggie. The reason I won't be returning is what happened after. I watched the couple return the incorrect order to the kitchen. Where I watched their line cook unpack and repack the same sandwiches, let it sit for about 4 min, then serve it to me. Now, I know the food hadn't been tampered with as I saw and watched the couple it was served to in their whole interaction with my order. But the hygienic implications are sufficient to put me off...I dont want my food to be touched by the bare hands of complete strangers..The fact that this happened in front of my face is enough to ensure I will never be able to trust that my food was handled...

HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRY IT ASAP

Went to this restaurant/diner because I smelled the chicken prep before they opened one morning while working. Convinced my hubby to go. Got there smelled amazing and when I want fried chicken it must smell good. My hubby kept saying I hope this is worth it. We ordered for 3. Hubby got the hot thigh sandwich, my son got a plain beaut, and I got the regular beaut with extra pickles. We got 3 fries and a small party box of bossy bites. The chicken was absolutely amazing. It was juicy not overly crunchy breading and the pickles added just the right bite couldn’t ask for a better sandwich (chick filet watch out for Beulah she’s got it going on). Wonderful fries fresh and very well seasoned. In the words of my hubby “this s* is awesome”. Ranch is homemade and fabulous. The bossy sauce has just enough of a kick but not too much spice. Even when I ordered more to go they took care of me beautifully. No complaints on this restaurant. Left with full bellies sand big smiles oh and with next days lunch.
