STOP. THE. PRESS. The search is over!! We FINALLY found the BEST nachos, BEST tacos, BEST Jamaica drink, BEST arroz con dulce and BEST everything in between!! And all can finally be found at one place: Azul Tacos and Beer! My fiancee (whom I love dearly) is a true nacho snob he does not hold back when it comes to rating nachos and for a full hour he kept talking about how much he liked the nachos and the tacos. He ordered the loaded nachos with carnitas and I ordered three tacos: al pastor, lengua and chicharron. For the record, if you follow my reviews, I recently reviewed the nachos from Mac's Speed Stop -which were really good - and Ducksworth which were really bad- but nothing comes close to the nachos and tacos we just had tonight. Here we go! Food: 50/5 stars, make 100 stars if you want, the explosion of flavors in every bite was memorable. The spices in the meat are like fireworks inside your mouth, you try to guess what is in it that makes the flavor sort of unique, exotic but it also warms your heart and soul, and brings memories of a meal made by grandma and all the family together, sitting at a table and enjoying a wonderful, homemade meal❤️. Service: well, here I give the entire place 200/5 stars. Why? Attentive, genuinely committed to ensure that you have the best experience. This is a casual environment, no waiters, you go to the register, order, pay and you get called when your order is ready. The street tacos are served in blue corn tortillas, I never had them like but now that's the way I want them forever!! So I wanted to try the flour tortilla, I asked one of the employees if they had a small quesadilla in the menu so I could order one. We chatted in general and about the blue corn tortilla. I went back to my table and next I know I am offered a free small quesadilla, is called Mulita, so I can try it. OMG! My heart was bursting with joy in every bite and to top it off, we met Hector, the owner and he is simply amazing!! He takes great pride in his business and it shows!! 200/5 stars to Hector! The place opened 7 weeks ago and I know his business will thrive! Atmosphere - is a casual place, the place is very clean and has a Sanitation rating of 97.5 so that alone speaks for itself. Hector shared with us that on inspection day, since he had recently opened his business, there were some boxes on the floor and that affected the score 🙈. I honestly believe that my mission to find the Best nachos and tacos in Charlotte was accomplished tonight and we found our happy place! I highly, highly recommend you try Azul Tacos And Beer❤️. 9 times in 1.5 months. That's how many times I've been back. Some with friends. Some with family. Some solo. Every single time has been anything but excellent whether it's the food, drinks, or service.

Main Dishes 9/10 ( The food is always tasty but I had slight differences in food taste and texture when coming back.)

Birria Mulitas: The birria meat was tender and juicy. This paired well with their handmade blue tortillas California Burrito: This is my go-to menu item. I think it's worth the extra $1 to get extra onions & queso. This burrito is heavenly. I typically choose carne asada for my meat. Costillas De Asada: This is worth the price. The portion of short ribs given aligns well with the price. They were also cooked to perfection and well seasoned as a stand-alone item. Street Tacos (Chicken & Carne) Chicken & Carne Quesadilla

Drinks - 10/10 (@only 5.95 for the Aqua Frescas, you can't beat this pricing for the size and the taste of the daily aqua frescas made in-house.)

Sangria: The sangria was nice and refreshing Horchata Aqua Fresca: This creamy & well-balanced drink pairs well with their churros. Pineapple Aqua Fresca: This is my go-to bev when I come. Cucumber Aqua Fresca: The cucumber flavor is very refreshing and not overpowering. Strawberry Aqua Fresca: I've only seen it once but if you're lucky enough to catch this flavor, this too was nothing short of perfect. If you're not a fan of pulp, this may not be for you. While minimal, this is made with fresh ingredients.

The owner Hecter is very involved in ensuring the operation is running smoothly, the diners are happy, and the establishment remains presentable. If you run into Alex at the front, he is also friendly and can suggest great dishes you may want to try.

So first time trying out this place. I assumed it was bigger from the pictures but place is kind of small. You have to wait to get a table. So someone gets up and leaves you take the table first come first serve. This place is nice. You go up to order food and drinks. Ordered the birria tacos and tamarindo margarita. Didn’t really wait long. You have to go to the bar to get the drinks and when your food is ready they shout the number thats on Your receipt. First bite I took of the tacos they had a fishy taste to it like they taste like fish that’s why I gave 4 stars but omg it was good( besides the fact it had the taste to it, it was not strong not bad but it had a taste) well seasoned meat tender melted in my mouth. And the drink let me tell you amazing. Everything here was amazing besides that little fish taste lol I did not die. It was so good and it was just In the first taco second I ate no fish taste so maybe some cross contamination there but all in all yes I would come back and yes I do recommend. You don’t have many authentic Mexicans places and the few we do have it’s so worth it. So yes I would drive 40 from where I live to eat here. UPDATE: no it was a fish taste.
