Although I only lived in this apartment for a short time, I loved the time I was there.
Just for some background, I lived there for 5 months before we broke our lease to leave. The ONLY reason I left is because I was looking to buy a home for myself, and I happened to find one and bought it. I was also in one of the 1 bedroom apartments, but I can't remember the name of the floor plan.

Read moreI've only lived at Morehead West for a short time, but my experience so far has been nothing short of wonderful. My friend and I looked at several different apartments in the uptown area in January. Our experience at Morehead West was by far the best out of all the apartments we toured. Rent is very affordable for the area and the apartments are very nice. Every unit has hardwood in the kitchen, living room and bathrooms, which is something I've never been able to find in an apartment before (except first floor units, I believe they have polished concrete flooring). The high ceilings make the apartment feel very lofty and modern. We were lucky enough to get a 4th floor 2 bedroom apartment, which means the master bedroom has 2 Juliet balconies, which is awesome. The finishings are luxurious and I've heard absolutely no noise at night. The area actually seems to be pretty quiet.
The complex is beautiful. The amenities are incredible. The neighborhood is very pet friendly. It seems like EVERYONE has a dog. The dog park is a great place to socialize and meet other residents. The complex is very clean and well landscaped, which is also something that is hard to find in the uptown area. The location is great. I work right outside of Charlotte and 77 is very easily accessible from the apartment complex. The complex is just minutes away from everything to do in Charlotte- South End, Plaza Midwood, South Park, and the Epicenter are all within 5-10 minutes.
The staff has been AWESOME. Nicole, the property manager, is great. She worked with us to move our move-in date up a week so that we could move in early due to conflicts with our previous apartment. There were a few small things that needed to be fixed when we moved into our apartment (the ice maker wasn't working, a drawer in the kitchen was jammed, etc.) and the (VERY friendly) maintenance staff worked with us to come at a time that was convenient for everyone.
I've read several reviews with complaints about parking- I haven't had any difficulty with parking yet. I frequently have visitors over. They just park at the leasing office or on the street right outside the complex and walk to our apartment. Not a big deal. I have friends who live in complexes in the city and parking is a literal nightmare there. I have no complaints.
In summation, Morehead West is a great place to live. It is by far the nicest apartment complex you'll find in its price range in the uptown area. The complex is beautiful, amenities are great, and the staff is awesome. I STRONGLY recommend this...
Read moreMove in was the day before thanksgiving! I was so stressed moving in right before a major holiday but the ladies at the office helped so much by having such an easy move in ! I love how spacious the apartment is. The community is quiet. I love how convenient it is to uptown and southend. It’s just a great and affordable apartment. I’ve only been here for a week but so far im happy !
Updated Edited Honest Review: A year has passed by and I feel as though I can give the most honest review of the Arium. The apartments themselves are decent. My concern is not to much about the apartment or the community. Although I have heard about some security issues, the new management has definitely listened to the community and are making changes to help keep the community safe ! Now let’s talk about move out !!! Please, please, please put your 60 day notice in, even if they don’t notify you. I made this mistake and it cost me. I never received the renewal email despite them saying it was sent out. To continue So it’s now time to pay rent for November and my portal is stating I owe a little over 3k which is absolutely wrong. I go to the office immediately and guess who helps me once again ? CAM !!! If I wasn’t for CAM being my advocate, I really would not know what to do during this rough moveout !!! The property manager never apologized or took the time to personally speak to me about this awful move out. I honestly felt like I had no voice and overseen. To continue with my story…I moved out and again another error. They charged me twice for a fee that was already paid and tried to take it out my deposit. I didn’t get any apology or sense of professionalism but CAM once again had my back ! He got it corrected quickly and efficiently! So my problem isn’t really with the community or the apartment…or even maintenance! The maintenance team here does such a good job ! But the upper management and the lack of communication. I can email/call and no one is responsive…until I make an appearance. I moved out Nov. 21st…and still NO security deposit check. (Granted it says to wait 15-45 days for your check to arrive) but I’ve never waited this long at any apartment that I’ve lived in. So my honest advice is the community itself is great. Close to downtown and all the attractions but it’s so many other apartments that will be more professional than this one. And again it’s not Chloe or Cam…it’s above them ! They are such a great addition to the community! I wish both of them nothing but the best in their future...
