Decided to have Sunday brunch as an early birthday celebration. I called and called numerous times in the weeks and days leading to the day as we were going to be a large party, and I was unable to reach anyone. I even submitted the online form as a last ditch effort, and nothing. There needs to be a better system for reservations because that was horrible. I still wasn’t able to get a reservation, but we still showed up and they were able to seat us. I guess it helped because it was later during brunch vs earlier 🤷🏾♀️, no clue. The atmosphere is really cool, geared towards adults vs family friendly (we had 2 kiddos with us). Loved the Dj, decor and the set up. Be careful walking around in heels, or anything for that matter, because the floors were slippery! I always felt like I had to walk super slow or I would fall! Overall the food was really good! I didn’t get a pic of everyone’s food and all the food we had, but it was good. The “dream eggs” aka deviled eggs, salmon bites, and the egg roll were the super delicious and flavorful! I had the shrimp and grits with a lobster tail - it was okay. My issue was that the shrimp was extremely over seasoned, similar to the salmon bites. Not sure why the seafood was over seasoned but it was and made it challenging to enjoy. The lamb chops were actually really good, I wish I would’ve gotten that instead. The sides are bomb! That feeling of “this is how you’re supposed to make grits, eggs, potatoes, etc. 🤌🏾) Drinks, overpriced as hell and not strong enough. The esthetics of the drinks are great but it seems that you’re paying more for the presentation and decoration vs a good drink. Tiffany, our server, was amazing and patient! She made the experience great with amazing customer service! Thank you Tiffany! In short, it was a good experience. The four stars is an accumulation of things: poor reservation system/process, over-seasoned food, and over priced drinks. Would I return, ehhh I don’t know! Maybe a once in a blue moon experience or during a less busy time but it is a great place to try out at least once!

Our 1st time here on the 3rd night of them being open & we absolutely loved it! We came to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary & the hostesses were really sweet as soon as we walked in. Our server, Milan, was really on point with giving us the rundown of the menu & highlight items. I think it was a manager, but his name is Antoine & he came around to speak to everyone & was soooo nice! (Please don't stop doing that sir, lol!) Customer service was great! Now to the food/drinks....for appetizers, we had the fried green tomatoes & they were delicious! Now, for $23 you only get two slices of fried tomatoes w/ two shrimp that sit on top of creamy grits and a drizzle of a cajun cream sauce. The price is steep for what you get for this item in my opinion. For entrees we got the catfish and grits ($31) & salmon and grits ($35), both of which you can get blackened or fried. The blackened seasoning was everything! My fish was so tender and it was all topped with the cajun cream sauce that the tomatoes were topped with. For drinks we got the mocktail Hurricanes and they was tasty, just like a tropical punch for $11 each. We also tried the peach D'usse frosé shots & they were good! Tasted like a frozen peach bellini. We didn't get dessert as the entrée servings were huge & we were so stuffed, so with the entrées you definitely get what you pay for and we had great leftovers to take home. (Next time I'm trying that peach cobbler though & will try their brunch on the weekend as well.) The atmosphere is very welcoming & the noise level was not bad at all. Everyone looked nice & seemed to be taking everything in having fun. Lots of "social media friendly" decor with the grass wall, led signs & rose ceiling downstairs. The music was great, had me dancing at my table. We will definitely be back to try more! Note to add: We've been back a few more times & Jamilah was awesome on our latest visit celebrating a high school graduate dinner. Thanks girl!!

We wanted it to be great after reading a review about it from a reputable black chef and business man, but it wasn't giving. We spent almost $200 and the best thing that we had was the appetizer (fried green tomatoes with shrimp), and my drink (rum punch). My partners drink, at $29, was so sweet that she wasn't able to finish it, her entrée, which was supposed to be a creamy pasta dish was not creamy at all, but was instead very oily. There was a fried snow crab leg on top of the dish that had a batter on it that was too salty. I understand frying crab legs is popular and all but at least make sure that it tastes good. It did not, but the presentation was nice. My entrée of the southern fried chicken looked amazing but the batter was entirely too salty to enjoy. We left very disappointed and will probably not return. The pros were the decor. The flowers on the walls and ceiling were beautiful. I'd planned on taking photos after our meal by the flower wall, but we were so disappointed with our food and ready to leave that I decided against it. Although it was very crowded, I expected that for a Saturday night. Our server was professional and pleasant. He did his job well and we have no complaints about him, really. The D.J. was great and had us singing in our seats. The table was a little wobbly but clean. I just wish the food has been as nice as those beautiful flowers that hung from the ceiling. Recommendation: Check to make sure you're not adding too much salt to fried foods or the batter that you're using. Both the fried crab leg and the fried chicken were too salty. Bring the food out fresh and hot. The pasta was more oily than creamy, I believe, because it sat for a while before getting to us. $23 for two chicken legs is not okay. That could've been the price for two legs and two sides. When the server asked if I wanted dark or white meat I said dark and was expecting at least a leg and thigh but got two legs instead. I literally paid over $11 per leg. That's too much. This place could be a lot better. Please make these changes so that you guys can live up to the hype.
