Romare Bearden Park is one of the nicest outdoor open areas in Charlotte. Aside from the various events held here such as fireworks, live music, food truck festivals and Child friendly fares, there are several play areas hidden amongst the artistic architecture accented by beautiful multicolored lights. From water spouts randomly shooting upwards from the ground, musical squares embedded in the cement that chime when jumped on, bells to ring, rocks to climb, trails to walk, a multi acre field to play soccer in or just run freely through..there is fun for all ages here. If you need a break, there are several seating areas to relax in or enjoy a bite to eat from any of the great restaurants that surround over half of the park. This place is so beautiful that my wife and I chose to have our wedding here. If you are a Charlotte native and you haven't been...go now. If you are a visitor who's looking for one of Charlotte's top ten gems, add romare Bearden Park to...

Nice park, not so great first impression. My first visit was a bit of a shocker because this park was littered with hobos. I strolled in with my family and was greeted by the sight of what appeared to be 2 hobos sitting on the ground handcuffed and surrounded by 6 police officers.

As unsettling as that situation was, the 2 people in custody were screaming expletives at the top of their lungs. We found a spot all the way in the corner of the park at the opposite end of the obscenities and could still hear it.

Well about the park. Its nice but lacks trees. The waterfall is awesome and there is a splash pad for children which is great. We walked around and there were homeless people sitting on the benches in every corner of the park.

This is not the place to come if you want to go for a jog or want to take in scenery. It's more for the folks who live in the apartments in the area. And apperantly for homeless population in...
