I am HIGHLY disappointed and a little offended by the experience and unconcern I’ve received from the staff at this establishment. I purchase tickets to the Tina Turner show on 6/11/25 via the phone. Paid and gave all necessary information. I received and emailed the next day stating that my purchase was flagged and that they had refunded my account. I called and spoke with someone and she couldn’t tell me why. She then put in a request for a manager to call me, a guy calls and yes it was because of my address. I asked him to explain. He then says to me, well, we’re sorry about this but unfortunately the tickets that you originally purchased are gone but I can offer more to you at a low rate. So, I responded and said, so you cancel my purchase over an address and instead of calling me to confirm you cancel and refund me and then when I reach out you offer me tickets at a cheaper rate and I still had not received my refund from you? I spend $400 and now you’re offering me to send more money on top of that? Absolutely, not, the inconvenience and lack thereof on your end shouldn’t result to me spending more money. I planned this night for my partner and I and now it is ruined.
Finally I asked to speak to another manger and the guy on the phone tells me that they would reach out to me in an hour, but, he’s going to offer you the same thing I am offering. There will be no difference. Unfortunately, this is all that we can do.
I will not accept this. I need these tickets paid for in n full but the theater for the lack of communication and confirmation and the extreme inconvenience that I have to endure.
I hate to say it but I’d never EVER attend this place again. FYI do not purchase tickets over the phone. They will flag you and cancel your order. This is crazy and not...
Read moreWe parked at Bank of America parking garage by Rooster’s Wood Fired Kitchen, took the elevator up to the sixth floor, and walked through Founders Hall right into the theater - there was zero chaos and no stress and I appreciated that. The venue was well-staffed with helpful ushers, spotless bathrooms, and a friendly bar staff that was especially kind to my daughter. My first time at Belk theatre was terrific - and really everyone was so friendly. We could truly enjoy the show. So here’s my review for the show we saw. Katerina McCrimmon’s afternoon performance in “Funny Girl” at the Belk Theatre in Charlotte was brilliant. I initially bought the tickets thinking Lea Michele might be performing, I really didn’t know anything about theatre. This would be the first Broadway show of my adult life. When I found out Katerina would be the lead, I was a little skeptical, especially since I couldn’t find much about her online. To prepare, I listened to the soundtrack two weeks before the show. To be honest, the songs seemed boring, and I was worried that my young daughter and husband might not want to return to their seats after intermission.
Within about ten minutes, I was fully immersed in Fanny’s world, thanks to Katerina’s captivating performance. I found myself smiling. I genuinely laughed. During the second half, I felt deeply for her and the relationship struggles with con artist Nick Arnstein.
When Katerina sang, “People who need people are the luckiest people in the world,” I felt every word. Her theatrical performance was captivating, delightful, full of life and expression and humor, and wow what a voice! Without giving away any spoilers, the last act was simply brilliant. The show felt so human, and Katerina McCrimmon is unquestionably a...
Read moreUnbelievably frustrated and appalled at the actions and behaviors of the ushers and security team at the Belk Theater in Charlotte, not to mention the arrogance and hatred of the audience member who ruined our evening by physically threatening us and spewing bold face lies. I have never been treated with such disrespect and harassment as I was this evening. We missed the entire second half of a show ($200 for our tickets) because one very difficult usher (who should NEVER work in the wheelchair area) believed an unfounded complaint from a homophobic patron. Without any explanation or conversation about OUR concerns we (myself and my disabled partner) were removed and not once was the usher or the hateful patron questioned. One of the security guards even bullied my partner to “get up and leave” after I was already excused and could not return to help her. She is an amputee who was not in her wheelchair. While repeatedly harassing her, she had to pull up her pant leg to show him she didn’t have a leg and could not walk. As she was being bullied by the ushers and security, the homophobic patron was literally sitting there laughing. It is such a shame that employees who are encouraging the enjoyment of the arts treated two women (one 61 years old and dependent on a wheelchair) so horribly. Each time I think about what happened I end up crying as it all could have been avoided if the usher had been kind.
By the way the man’s complaint, “He could hear me humming, AT A MUSICAL.” In truth, it was a flat out act of HATE!!! Because of behaviors like that of the employees who let him win, he will continue to display hate and think he has the...
