Attended a Clark Atlanta University alumni event for the holidays at the Marquee Charlotte. We arrived pretty early and in the bar was just us, so it was a nice intimate setting. It is a two-story building with two fully functioning bars, upstairs and downstairs. When you first walk in you are greeted by security who just wants to make sure you’re not bringing in any weapons or vapes. They are very friendly. When you enter into the building there is a reception area to the right and a DJ area to the left, next to a nice Instagram/selfie area with ”The Marquee” in a neon sign. Upstairs has sections for guests to celebrate their birthday or a special event. That’s where we sat. There are high top tables as well as sections with comfortable, plush couches, and it’s decorated like a nice uptown loft. The drinks are reasonably priced. I had a regular margarita, a tequila sunrise, and another margarita with mango all with 1800. (Tip: Make sure to specify the kind of tequila you want in your drinks. At any bar not just this one.) The bartender, Mandi, took care of us for most of the night and our waitress was very attentive and explained the menu options as many of us ordered different things with dietary restrictions. The music was amazing. Earlier in the night, there is a playlist that plays a lot of AfroBeats and Afro Caribbean music, but after 9 PM a DJ comes in. I happened to know the DJ who was a DJ in my hometown, DJ Hukher. I’m always looking for a nice 30+ crowd and this was it. Overall a very grown and sexy vibe and the food and drink were top-tier! I will be back.

I came here for LIVE MUSIC THURSDAYS with the Rhythm4U Band @rhythmislife32 at @themarqueecharlotte!!!! SINGERS ( & POETS./Spokenword artists..) this is for YOU!!! It was a wonderful experience. My waitress/ server D, she was so attentive and kind. I truly enjoyed myself here. They had great cocktails & tapas!!!! I tried the Italian Panini-, and the first try had turkey pepperoni, so I opted to just take it to go. The owner/chef remade it with jalapeños which although I do not like spicy foods, was still a delicious experience. The fries were crispy (to go). I ordered fried green beans, which honestly were my favorite! It came with a garlic aoili. The atmosphere was elegant yet modern. It is a great space for anyone who would like a nice cocktail and small plates. Date night, solo or couples even groups, birthdays were being celebrated as well. The music, both singing and live band, was highly energetic. The crowd couldn't stop singing and dancing. They truly enjoyed my poetry as well...#shamelessplug. The cost to dine and drink matches many of the more upscale venues in the city. The ambiance was worth it, as was the food. They also had outdoor seating and tables with a heater. It's definitely your go-to space to enjoy fun, food, and festivities. Located at 3131 Tuckaseegee Rd Charlotte NC. Doors open at 5 for the mixer/networking and 8pm live music starts on Thursdays. Parking available on side street if lot is full. Limited on site parking.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this incredible nightclub while celebrating a special friend’s birthday. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff. The cocktails were tasty and the food was delicious! The music selection was on point, with a talented DJ keeping people out of their seats all night long.

What truly sets this particular club apart from others in Charlotte, is its attention to detail. The lighting and decor create an ambiance that's both stylish and cozy, making it the perfect place to unwind and have a great time with co-workers, friends, or family.

I did have some dislikes about Marquee such as the presence of only one ladies and gentlemen's bathroom on the second floor, and the long wait time for food and drinks. Parking was another issue as the parking lot is pitch black with lots of rocks and cracks in the ground. The dark and unpaved parking lot can potentially be a safety hazard for some patrons while walking to the club.

Regardless of the few issues that I mentioned, I still had a wonderful time. A strong word of advice in regards to VIP seating: please respect the rules and policies of the venue. Sitting in a VIP section without paying not only disrespects the establishment, it also disrespects parties who have paid to enhance their nightlife experience. Unfortunately, some non-VIP patrons were removed from a RESERVED VIP section.

I highly recommend this club to anyone looking for a place to let loose, dance to your favorite beats and connect with people who share a desire for a vibrant nightlife. It's definitely become one of my favorite spots in town, and I can't wait to return for more...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5 Stars—because some places just get it.)

You ever walk into a spot and instantly feel like you made the right choice? Yup. That’s The Marquee. It’s sophisticated without trying too hard, vibey without the chaos, and just the right amount of upscale where you can still actually enjoy yourself.

Ambiance + Vibe: Flattering lighting and music the curates can entire experience. The crowd is grown, fly, and giving “We left the foolishness in our 20s.”

The Marquee’s energy is intentional. You can sip slow and soak it all in—or let the right song pull you onto the floor for a subtle two-step that still preserves the edges.

Cocktails + Bites: Always balanced, smooth, and with a little personality. The Espresso Martini? It understood the assignment—strong enough to keep the night going but not overpowering. Perfect portions—enough to indulge without feeling weighed down. (Waistline-friendly, girlies!)

Service + Experience: Listen, good service is a love language and The Marquee speaks it fluently. The staff is attentive, warm, and always present without hovering. Everything just
flows.

Final Take: The Marquee is for people who appreciate a night out that feels as good as it looks. A spot where you can pull up solo, with your crew, or on a date and know you made the right call. The drinks hit, the vibes are strong, and the energy is effortlessly top-tier.

There’s a fine art to creating a lounge that feels both sophisticated and comfortable, upscale but unpretentious. This spot is an entire mood.

✹ Highly recommend. I’ll be back, same seat,...
