Very unorganized, unprofessional and discriminatory behavior. Owner booked our band weeks in advance. When we showed up, he wouldn't let the band in, stating he couldn't allow the members of the band that are under 18 into the building BY LAW (ages 16-18). We explained they have been hired many times before in NC to play bars/ clubs and have never heard of this law. The owner failed to provide the information when asked. The venue booked them knowing their age as there were previous discussion on this topic . The denial of entry into the booked venue resulted in loss of time, money and emotional damage. Note to owner: your discrimination is unacceptable and a quick call with a lawyer shows you lied to us to avoid fulfilling your agreement (by booking them and denying entry). You do not support independent artists if they are of a certain age and/or look a certain way. Your loss entirely. Maybe you should check out the bands you hire to be a prepared and knowledgeable.
Here is the NC law so you're aware: """ It is unlawful to serve or sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 21. There is no state policy regarding the admittance of minors into establishments that serve alcohol. Minors are not allowed to consume alcohol either on or off a licensed premise. """
Source: NC 18b article 3, APIS government
Concluding that this is discriminatory practice by the owner.

Read moreIt’s always a great pleasure coming here and listening to the fantastic performances and talking with the energetic staff. The ambiance, the culture, it’s all very appealing and just fun. However, the one thing that seems to always cause problems is the security guard. The chubby big guy with the short hair. He not only consistently gives an attitude but shows a level of aggression that’s HIGHLY unnecessary. To a point to where me and someone else have refused to walk in because of his B.S. just a while back, the guy storms out the building the minute we step outside, accusing us of drinking and loitering. When the only beverage present in our belongings was two water bottles and we were there for a couple minutes trying to wait for a friend. He then proceeds to stand there and mean mug us while we’re outside without any intention of leaving while me and someone else are just waiting. He does this for about 15 minutes. We felt uncomfortable and left under the intention to go somewhere else due to his behavior. Come to find out, based on other incidents, we aren’t the only ones that have stopped coming there due to his bad behavior. And this isn’t the only time he’s been aggressive. The establishment? 10/10, but the man seriously needs to take a chill pill and I’m not the first to stop going there...
Read moreIt's loud, bring earplugs because they cost a dollar a pair at the bar. Aside from that it's an alright dive bar with live music.
My mistake I meant to hit 3 stars.
Also be sure to wear light clothing as it is hot, stuffy and little ventilation. There is an outdoor area, which is refreshing. There is limited seating available, inside and out.
The bathrooms, not pristine, but cleaner than I expected. (But guys are gonna pee on a seat no matter what. Not managements fault.)
There is a fair selection of craft and micro brewery beers.
This review comes after my second visit to the "club" and would like to say a special thank you to the bar staff. It took 2 of them 3 minutes to find ear plugs when I asked for them. That is excellent customer service. So to answer the question of what I would charge for ear plugs, judging by the lack of them I saw being worn and the staff not knowing where they were, the amount of earplugs sold is minimal, so free. That's what I would charge for earplugs. Nothing. Think if it as a perk for...
