I've ordered from this place 3 times. The first time, I had mole enchiladas, and the mole was legit, so the next time I ordered the carnitas plate with mole, which was good and a very larger portion. I also ordered a burrito. My wife wanted bean and cheese, no meat, with sauce on top. The closest thing was the Mezcali burrito, which h has meat, with rice and beans on the side. I explained what I wanted, which took a while before the server said, "you want beans inside?" I mean, is there such a thing as a burrito without beans? It was pretty good, but I had forgotten to ask for rice. So this time, I went with Ultimate Burrito, featuring "rice and beans inside" and a choice of meat. I ordered it with red and green sauce instead of cheese sauce and red sauce. What I got was a burrito with NO BEANS and the chicken on top with the sauces. The whole idea of a burrito is to put everything inside and top it with a sauce. So this was not a burrito. It was rice (converted rice at that, which should never be served in a restaurant) rolled in a tortilla with the rest of the stuff on top, but, of course, no frijoles. This place appears to be run and staffed by Mexicans, so it's hard to understand why they don't put beans in, i.e. inside, their burritos. That's the foundation of a burrito - a tortilla and beans. It seems they serve them with only thing inside, maybe 2, which is just weird. My fault for ordering a burrito east of Los Angeles. Mi Pueblo is close by, has better food and a better dining space, and they serve...
Read moreListen, I have been waiting all week to come as I wanted to be among the first to try this place and they did not disappoint. First, hats off to Brithney and Estefani as their customer service was top tier as I navigated my way thru both the drink menu and the food menu. Kudos to both of you.
Brithney reminded me that the house Margarita was on special as it is their grand opening week, which was very good, but the star of the show was the sangria margarita that Estefani said I should also try. Baby, it was so GOODT!!!! Literally the best of both worlds. Oh and they both were jumbo sized! đ
Additionally, I had so many food options to choose from, but Estefani said I should try the Ultimate ACP, which includes, chicken, steak, shrimp, grilled onions, zucchini, broccoli, and served on a bed of rice and topped with cheese with a side tortillas. When I tell you Chef Pablo put his foot in this meal! OMG!!!!! It was so damn good. I'm sitting here right now full as a tick trying to finish my food but I just can't. Needless to say I have leftovers for breakfast.
I already told them that I'm going to be a regular so they need to just go ahead and put my name on my seat at the bar.
But seriously, go check out Mezcali Mexican Restaurant on Sardis immediately! This is there second location (they have a location in Huntsville). You will not be...
Read moreI canât say enough about my incredible experience at Mexicali Restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was met with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience.
The service was absolutely outstanding. Brithney and Stefanie went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. They were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal.
Now, onto the foodâwow! I started with the guacamole, which was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The sopes were an absolute highlight: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and topped with the most delicious ingredients. A pitcher of margaritas was the perfect pairingârefreshing, tangy, and just the right amount of kick. To top it all off, the flan was the grand finale I didnât know I needed: creamy, silky, and a perfect blend of sweetness to end the meal on a high note.
Mexicali Restaurant delivers not just incredible food but an exceptional dining experience, thanks to amazing servers like Brithney and Stefanie. Iâll definitely be back soon and recommending this spot to...
