My family and I come here often and we came in last night for our exchange student’s 18th birthday. She loves sushi and was so excited. The main issue is that when we sat down at 7:50 (after. waiting) we were told last call is 8:45. No problem. We all ordered a first round, appetizers, hibachi, nigiri, some hand rolls, one main sushi roll. Got our food and then ordered more at 8:40 or so and it never comes out so we’re sitting there watching them put chairs on tables and watching the sushi chefs clean up and eventually flag our server down and are like hey we’re still waiting on sushi. He comes back and says he’s so sorry but something happened and our order didn’t get put in right and they closed the kitchen but he took off the gratuity and 10%. 😫 A 10% discount when we didn’t get half our food is not cool ……. We’re still hungry, birthday girl is looking forward to her two more rolls. I understand and I’m not even that upset at the server, mistakes happen, but we talked to the manager on duty, a blonde woman, who was extremely unhelpful. Eventually after begging for at least 50% since we didn’t get half our meal, she agrees to 25% off. We pay and leave very upset. We would have loved a gift card or something to come back another day or comp this lackluster meal and we’ll come back another day for the sushi we were expecting. The manager never even came over to apologize and talk to us- we had to go talk to her and all she said was “sorry for the inconvenience”. Why am I paying $100 after discount for this meal only to go spend more money at Taco Bell after because we’re still hungry! I’m a server and my manager would have gone over to talk to them and make it right, even if it was my mistake. Manager seemed so unsupportive of her staff. If a table orders food you have two options, make it, or comp it.
There were several things other things made our experience subpar, we had to ask 3 different servers for more menu papers and still didn’t get them so we had to go to the host stand to get them. Three of us got sweet tea and it was refilled with unsweet tea and then when we told the server he said that they’ve already dumped the tea, who dumps tea at 8:30 when you close at 9 and have a packed restaurant? Overall very disappointed in our favorite sushi place and are sad to not patronize this location anymore. No hate to our server, wish I remembered his name, he tried his best to fix it with an...
Read moreI placed a to go order and specifically asked the young lady who was taking my order if any spicy mayo came on the rolls. She turned and asked the guy making the sushi and he confirmed that there was mayo on the roll. I let her know I could not eat mayo and requested no mayo on either of the two rolls I was ordering. She acknowledged my request and out my order in the system. She then read back my order to me before I paid. Once my food was ready, I saw the young lady at the counter check the order, bag it, tie the bag and hand it to me. I live about 35-40 mins away so it took me some time to get home. Once home I noticed one of the rolls (placed at the very bottom of the bag) had spicy mayo drizzled all over the top. I called the store to let them know the mistake. I was told I needed to bring the roll all the way back to the restaurant. I informed the manager how far I lived and that I didn’t think it was fair for me to have to drive all the way back for their mistake so I asked if I could just get a refund. She told me she would have to call her GM and call me back. Upon her calling back she told me the GM said I would either have to send them a picture and email it to him then I other bring in the roll or provide my card information over the phone so they could recharge me for the other items on the order as they would refund the original order on their end (without needing my card information) but I anted to recharge me for the other items. I emailed the picture but told the manager that I did not feel comfortable with providing my card information over the phone and having them write it down. She told me (very rudely) “Well this is our policy sooooo”. I told her I would voice my concerns to the GM when I emailed him and she hung up. When I emailed the GM I voiced my concerns and sent the pictures but never heard anything back from the GM. Since I could not eat the roll with the mayo, I had to throw it out so I was out of money without even an apology. Worst customer service I’ve ever received. Would...
Read moreMy husband and I (sometimes with friends) go frequently especially recently being on a weight loss plan - don't ask, it seems counter intuitive (I've lost 15 lbs in 2 months doing OMAD eating sushi during most lunches on weekdays). Recently, it's one of the only places with food I can stomach for some odd reason.
At this point, half of the servers recognize us. They are attentive to my allergies when I put it on the order. Sometimes the services is faster on certain days than others. Sometimes certain servers are more attentive with less mistakes than others. But in general, service is great. Food is amazing especially for price of the all you can eat. There's maybe only once or twice out of the many many times we've eaten there in the last year or two that the food was off. I prefer lunch rather than dinner since I have a shrimp allergy and also don't eat as much.
Some of my favs: spicy tuna handroll, phoenix roll, clear soup, seaweed salad, aged tofu. My husband likes getting hibachi shrimp or just veggies with no rice, chicken katsu, most of the salads, and a bunch of rolls.
Expect to wait in line if you don't time and get there early before opening. For the great price on an all you can eat sushi restaurant, it's NORMAL to have to wait. $14.99 at another sushi restaurant maybe gets you a seaweed salad and a specialty sushi roll at best (or just a specialty sushi roll for dinner). It's a bit shocking to hear or see negative comments/attitude towards the staff for nothing they did/cause. Like other popular places, there's wait - staff didn't cause it. You can choose to get there earlier, order take out, or to go somewhere else if there's a very long wait. If you get hangry, pack a snack. There's an amazing nursery with plants called Pike Nurseries about 1-2 blocks away if you'd like to kill time or de-escalate.
Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Thanks for the awesome food and services every time...
