The Rooted Vegan Food Truck — Restaurant in Charlotte

I’ve lived in Nashville for 7 years. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich they serve is not Nashville hot chicken. Like, at all. Nashville hot would never be a sweet heat in the first place but the sauce they use is all sweet and literally no heat. I expected some type of kick to it and was pretty disappointed on that front. I also added cheese and extra Nashville sauce. The vegan cheese they use tastes like nothing (I tore a piece off and tried it by itself just to make sure). My friend ordered the same sandwich with no modifications and his appeared to have the same amount of sauce as mine did. I will say the texture of the sandwich was great but it was lacking in flavor for me. My friend really liked his sandwich for what it’s worth.

I also ordered the fried okra and it came in a cup with no lid. When I opened the bag, the cup was tipped over and fried okra was spilled over onto the bottom of the bag....

Only things are: it would be super nice if you could have a bun-less option (lettuce wrapped), and options for sides, beside the fries, (small salad, fried okra, fruit).

But honestly, it was super delicious. Would definitely recommend.

It isn't a restaurant. You order online and enter the "Community Kitchen" (orange around the doors and "order food" "pick up here" (or something like that) signs on the doors), to get your food.

They don't have a flier on the wall like the other kitchens there, but they're there.

I'm not sure if you can sit at the tables to the left of the space and eat, but if you can...

Ok so let me start by saying, I am NOT vegan! But I know good food when I taste it! I recently tried Best of Both Souls and loved everything I ordered. This is the best vegan food in Charlotte!

I ordered the Sweet Chilli Cauliflower Wyngs. They did not disappoint! They were fried perfectly and generously coated in the sauce. The fries were fresh and well seasoned.

I also ordered the lemonade, which I could tell was fresh squeezed. She has different flavors too.

Last but definitely not least, I tried the new vegan shugar cookies. My only regret is that I didn't order more!! I will definitely be back for...
