China Pagoda Restaurant — Restaurant in Chaska

Im from out of state and ive been looking for some decent traditional americanized (i only say that because if youve been to china this is not the same experience but dont confuse me calling it that with this being in the same league as lee ann chin, its not its far better) chinese food since i got here. Ive eaten at all the chinese food restaurants from chaska to downtown and even driven quite far out of that range to try to find better. I love MN, but the chinese food here is nothing like what i grew up with on either coast. I was about ready to give up and then i tried the local one just a few blocks from my house. I WAS AMAZED!!! China Pagoda was exactly the flavors and experience i was looking for. The staff is very nice, prices are great, they always remember my daughter and send home a lollipop for her. They are a jewel in an otherwise rundown stripmall. Dont let that deter you, go inside for great delicious food.

I'm honestly really disappointed this place has remained take out only since covid. The only reason I can think for them to do so is that they make more money this way. They also removed their lunch special, have raised their prices, and quality is decreasing. I got the chicken chow mein with fried rice and sweet and sour pork. The pork was hard to chew, though the bater and sauce were good. The chow mein though was really disappointing. The sauce was basically water and the chicken was tasteless. The fried rice was simply boring, unfortunately.

I will say though, the staff is nice, and always has been. I just wish they'd figure out their prices and actually open the restaurant part back up. The food being kind of gross could be a fluke, I've eaten here before and it's usually not this bad, though it's also not usually something impressive either, but the take out only and the prices changing all the time are really off putting for me. Best option in Chaska for Asian Take Out by far- tried other and othing compares- they have always been very consistent. Food is fresh and hot- also you get free cream puffs with any order over $45 which is pretty easy to do feeding a family of 4- Prices are much better than other options nearby and quality and quantity are equally top notch! Food is made quickly and wait times are usually only 10-15 minutes from when you call in to when you pick up- Thank you for always providing great customer service and being our number one take out spot in Chaska! They will also make your order custom with no veggies if asked which is something you don't find too often. I always hated ordering a meat dish and having it made up of so many veggie fillers like you see in alot of other Asian take out places- here you get what you pay for...
