Just overall a bad experience. For a place named Southern social they sure suck at Southern food. The BBQ platter tasted like someone visited the south once, took some pictures, then described the food to someone who's never been, then asked that person to make a menu. Pork, ribs, brisket were so dry and tough you needed the awful sauce that they were slathered in just to be able to chew. As for the sauce, adding bourbon to Sweet Baby Rays and serving it on a BBQ platter should be illegal. BBQ should stand on its own and have a sauce on the side that compliments, not as a means to hide the flaws. Hush puppies came undercooked with raw batter in the center, this is a crime against southern cuisine, but instead of the spicy savory sauce listed on the menu for it we were brought out a chocolate hazelnut sauce for one of their desserts. Sweet tea when served in the south should be in a large glass filled with ice and garnished with lemon wedges, not a small glass with barely enough ice to chill it to room temperature, again another disappointing Yankee version. Multiple times we had to ask for things like napkins, refills on drinks that sat empty for over 10 minutes, the correct sauces for dishes as mentioned for Hush puppies, or even two sides that were completely forgotten about. The side dishes where good, and the highlight of the meal which is just sad. For anyone who's from the south or spent any time there would cry at the idea of this being called southern. This was as southern as Taco Bell is authentic Mexican, to say not at all.

This newest Southern Social location is just as amazing as the others. The food is delicious (we always have to order the fried pickles), the employees are very friendly and accommodating (Melinda was our server and was very nice, checked in with us regularly, and helped with a high chair for one of our babies). The backyard patio is beautiful with lots of greenery and flowers. It features traditional table seating and some more casual lawn sofas with a great fire pit. In addition to the fried pickles, we ordered a couple of their non-alcoholic cocktails (perfect for a summer day), cheese curds, the pastrami sandwich, and the catfish and chips (the hush puppies are a little spicy which was so good). Everything was so fresh, hot, and crispy.

What I like about this new restaurant is the great menu of well-made, good quality comfort foods. In addition, you can’t beat the atmosphere of a clean, brand-new completely renovated eatery. If you like outdoor dining, check out the new patio dining - the best I’ve seen in the south metro. We shared appetizers - fried pickles and corn bread - and I had the pastrami sandwich - all were very good. We shared a dessert with a cup of very good coffee. All around great dining experience. Check out the photos.

Had dinner at the new location in Chaska and couldn’t have been more impressed. There were 3 of us and WOW were we impressed. Our server was Addie and she was so sweet & knew the menu very well. Gave great suggestions and very attentive without being annoying. Very nice and friendly - all the staff was actually

Now for the food mmmmmhmmm. YUM!!! You can tell that the chefs have pride in what they do and it flows to their team. I’m calling it a team in the kitchen cuz you can see them and it looked liked it was running as a week oiled machine. We got: Fried Green Tomatoes app Nacho platter app Biscuit basket Entrees: Chicken & Waffles - my friend orders Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich w/ Cucumber Salad - subbed bbq sauce for their bourbon bbq - my meal BBQ Platter with grits - my brother ordered Everything was delicious!! Every was homemade, even the jelly for the biscuits - it made you want to lick the container!!!

The BBQ Platter omg sooo juicy and tender and a mountain of MEAT!!! You can tell the chef knows his meat and how to smoke it - yes they smoke their own meat. Even the shredded pork was fork tender. The meat practically fell off the bones on the ribs it was so perfectly done & the grits mmmm still thinking about them and bummed I didn’t order a side for myself The fried chicken sandwich is what I had and I’m in love with the cucumber salad. So crisp and fresh!!! Great salad for summer and even winter - flavor was wonderful The chicken & waffle was so tender and had a great flavor. The waffle - so yummy!! Oh and we got beignets for dessert - seriously can’t go wrong with a fancy donut and chocolate for dessert!

We will definitely be back soon. What a great meal at a great restaurant with people who care & have pride in what they do. It shows and luckily we get to taste it!! lol I highly recommend everyone check it out. Hope management reads this and shares with the rest of the staff. Thank you to all the staff and Southern Social - Chaska for a fabulous...

I really really wanted to have a good first experience! But not this past Monday night. We were there at 5:30ish and it wasn't packed. We were seated outside. It is beautiful! Our waitress was super friendly and energetic and very on the ball. So far a good start! We ordered a couple of beers and they came right away. Great! Ordered the cornbread...it came quick enough in a nice hot cast iron pan. But it was cold in the center. Our waitress ordered a new one quickly and the manager apologized. The new one came and, while it was not ice cold, it wasn't as warm as it should have been. Husband ordered the Jerk Chicken sandwich with fries. I ordered the Brisket dinner with fries. The chicken sandwich was good, but not as hot as he was hoping. The chicken was dry. My brisket was very tasty, but fatty and one piece was dry. The 2nd set of beers we ordered tasted like dishwashing liquid. We called over our waitress and she took them from us and removed them from our bill which is great, but didn't offer us new ones in different glasses. So, the potential is there as there are so many reviews that say so. We will await a bit before we give...
