My mom and I decided to give Saucey Bones a try because we are sick of the same old fast food. We are so glad we did! This was the best meal we've had in a while! She got the chicken tenders plate with 2 sides. Their chicken tenders are fried to perfection and taste buttermilk battered like my granny used to make! They were delicious as was her okra. The potato salad was ok but a little too much tang from the pickles or relish but still edible. I got the killer potato with pulled pork and it is MASSIVE! It also comes with a piece of toast. I just moved back to town and I used to get this same potato at a local BBQ place in Calhoun and paid about double, if not more, for this same potato! It was too much and I couldn't eat them very often. But saucey bones' spud is a really good price for a REALLY good potato! If you've never tried one, it comes with: meat of choice and bbq sauce, butter, sour cream, and shredded cheese, all of its loaded onto a big baked potato. We both got big portions and ate for about $20 total. Their prices are good for the quantities and the quality of...
Read moreThis has to be one of the worst BBq places I’ve ever ordered from. I ordered a pound baby back ribs and got 6 bones..less than a half pound. The ribs were not smoked but backed in an oven. Dry, tasteless, and over cooked. The Mac in cheese was of so low quality I couldn’t finish it. Like they took a block of velveta, added a little milk and mixed it with overcooked pasta. I ordered fries with my meal. They dumped approx 10 fires in the box with the ribs and sent it on its way. I get the fact that cheap bbq is something that goes along with interstate exits. But this place is shanking people. Way over priced for the extremely low quality. You could easily find a cheap buffet with better ribs and other things you could eat for way less along an interstate. Terrible, just...
Read moreThe bbq pork was great and came unsauced, which is a plus. The sauce itself is a little tangy, but when its paired with the meat, it is a very good bite. The baked beans were good as well. The chicken looked a bit overdone, but was good, too.
Some things I personally didn't like was the cole slaw which seemed a little bland today. It pairs ok with the pork and sauce, but it really had no flavor of its own. The potato salad also had an overwhelming flavor of mayo and was a turnoff for me personally, but it is absolutely a personal preference. My wife, for example, tasted hints of mustard, so it's different for everyone.
Overall, I loved the meal and would go back. They have a 4% discount for cash as well if you're looking to...
