Stopped by the East Brainerd location to try it out for dinner. Ordered the shrimp tempura, Aqua Man roll, and shrimp and rice hibachi to share with my family. Keep in mind they don’t carry the egg tartlet or lamb here.
Taro boba 0/10: This was hands down the WORST boba I hope I’ll ever buy. It was very watery and tasteless, I kept thinking it tasted like cereal milk but without much sweetness or flavor. It didn’t quite taste like plain milk either though, maybe if milk was watered down with a dash of taro powder? If I didn’t know I had ordered taro, I would not have been able to tell you what flavor it was. No idea why my drink was such a letdown when there are so many good reviews.
Mango boba 0/10: Same but tasted like mango just enough to recognize the flavor.
Shrimp tempura 10/10: Came drizzled with teriyaki sauce and some vegetable tempura so it was a more filling app than just 3-pcs of shrimp tempura which I appreciated.
Aqua Man roll 7/10: Big tray of sushi, it’s deep fried so it was sorta soggy after being packed for takeout but I enjoyed dipping it in the sauces. Looking forward to trying their other rolls!
Shrimp hibachi with rice 10/10: Impressive portion size and very tasty! My husband and I split the bowl and it was the perfect amount of food for us with everything else we ordered. We both loved the 100 sauce and favor their yum sauce over others we’ve tried elsewhere. I would definitely be back to try the other...
Read moreSooo…when this place first opened we gave it a try the first day and I have to say the food was pretty good. Tried it again a few weeks later and it was terrible. I guess the new was wearing off. Steak was very under cooked, rice was super dry like it had been sitting under a lamp. For the price you have to pay the food should be better quality. I can go to Hana and it’s much better plus you don’t have to pay extra for soup and salad. Anyways I went back in tonight at 9:10pm. The sign said they were open and the sign on the door said open til 9:30pm so I was going to order some take out. I walk in and everyone was working. While I was standing there I noticed a foul smell that was concerning….As I was ordering a guy walks up to me and tells me they are closed. I mention the light was still on, the sign said 9:30 and I just wanted take out. He kept saying closed. So that did it for me. I try to give places the benefit of the doubt but this was aggravating. I could hear them still cooking in the back and the guy behind the desk was making sushi. If they want to close at 9 and not have further customers they need to change their hours. Disappointed to say the least…I won’t be going back in there. After the foul smell maybe the guy saved me from getting sick idk. It’s...
Read moreMiddle of the week, hump day. I needed something to get through the week. Sustenance. Delicious. Something out of the ordinary. While I have driven by this location for the past few months, this was my first time stopping. Chris showed me the point of display system where my wife and I easily ordered our lunches. Greeting customers and operating as host, Chris answered all our questions and we ordered. I had the Hibachi lunch w extra chicken. There is not photo as I ate it all quickly. It was a really large serving and I struggled to finish it. (I am 6’2” and 220.) my wife had the lunch sushi. What can you expect from this restaurant? Food that looks and tastes better than you expected. Friendly ownership. Reasonable prices (combined $25). And a unique atmosphere. In a world that is moving too quickly and full of noise—100 is an awesome oasis. Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. And you can order, eat and leave in far less than an hour. Give it a go, you will not be...
