My girlfriend and I came in at 4:00pm on Tues Feb 12th. We sat at the bar and asked for menus so we could order to go. We were greeted kindly by the hostess but once we sat at the bar it was night and day. We were tossed menus in front of us. We pull this off and asked if we could have some water while we looked over the menu to which a giant side and an eye-roll was given. after that one glass of water was brought back for the two of us and plopped down in the middle as if to make the point that we were troubling her while she was trying to navigate the deep water at the bar with 5 guests. Immediately we noticed someone was hovering over the top of us literally standing on the stool legs next to the chair I was sitting in was Jennifer P. she made sure to continually ask us what we would be ordering after we said we just need a few minutes mind you at this point we had been in the restaurant for less than 5 minutes. She literally never walked away and just stared at us until we finally ordered which was just a minute or so after that because we were so incredibly uncomfortable and felt extremely pressured to hurry up and order. When are food came out to the bar it was extremely rude the way that the server Jennifer p held up the ticket in our face and said you owe x amount of money we said okay. Then she proceeded to stand there and wait while we got a credit card out literally leering over the top of us as if we were going to make a mad dash for the door with our to go soup. So we pay the bill and then she hands us the receipt to sign and literally stands over the top of us explains to us multiple times that she needs us to sign the top ticket and then as we're sitting trying to have a conversation she says guys I need you to sign that. So we fill it out and it to her absolutely appalled at this point. I said to my girlfriend she must really have something important to do and we saw what that was because she went straight up to the host and where she was laughing with her coworkers. to cap everything off our order was wrong we had to come back into the restaurant from the vehicle and have it fixed and then when it was fixed it came out wrong again and it was finally made right with no apology and zero compensation just total indifference. Just for everybody's information ima 18-year bartender and restaurant 18 I work as a manager in the service industry currently I am super easy going when it comes to service because I know how hard the job is but this was an absolute slap in the face and I'm honestly...
Read moreWe had to warm our food up in a microwave when we got home. We spent $60+ for two as we usually do except this time we went to a different location. Normally, we order at the Applebee's in Hixson on Hwy 153, however we tried the one on Lee Hwy this time since it is closer to our house. That was a mistake & I promise you we will never order at the Applebee's on Lee Hwy ever again.
Our food was sad, my boyfriend's steak was not cooked well done, my chicken breast was the smallest I have ever seen & my green beans were absolutely inedible. My chicken was so thin, I still have a picture of it so I will provide it. Normally, I get a thick & well grilled piece of chicken. The restaurant on Lee Hwy gave me a piece of chicken breast that I could not even finish eating. There were pieces of that cooked protein allllllllll over it which made it very hard to chew or even look at honestly. Even the grill on it wasn't up to par. The green beans would slide through my teeth, I couldn't take a bite out of them.
We waited in their car side pickup for 10 mins before finally deciding that we had better go inside to get it. The guy beside us in car side pickup looked upset too when he finally got out to go inside for his order. Once he came back we figured we should go in too & that's when I checked my phone we called letting them know we were there over 10 mins ago. We go inside (they're not even busy) & tell them our name on the order, the lady at the front asks Kevin at the bar where our order is, Kevin tells her it's still cooking then takes a sip of his tumbler drink. Then right after, a gentleman came around the corner & said no it's right here then gave us our order. At this point, it has been over 15 mins since I got a notification saying that our order was ready for pick up.
So yeah, thanks Kevin for being so "helpful". We had to microwave our food, then on top of that, it wasn't even cooked how we wanted or even edible for that matter. He told us on the phone he would bring it right out to us, 10 mins later we had to go in ourselves. I did the car side pickup because I was sick and tried to do no contact. Finally seated after a brief wait, and our server comes around. No introduction, no welcome, just drink order.
I order my sweet tea and ask for my limes. Drinks arrive and no limes, I remind her again. No limes. She goes to another table where a young man and 2 kids are at. It appears from all indications she is in a relationship with this family. She lingers, placing a leg up in the booth and makes herself very comfortable. The man and children begin to leave and she goes with them to the front of the building, where she stands there for several minutes and watches as they leave.
She looks our way finally and I point to my tea, and ask about my limes. Another 15 or so minutes and she brings limes.
She takes our food order without a pad or device. I'm thinking this going to get interesting. 25 minutes later and the food arrives. But, no silverware. Another wait ....
Cut into the steak, and it's the exact opposite of the temperature I asked for.
But where's the server? Nowhere to be found. I ask another server to find ours, but he steps up and takes control. He agrees my steak is not medium rare, not even medium well but well done. He takes it along with my silverware.
Another 25 minutes and another steak. Would someone please bring me silverware, again!!!
Had to get it to go, the others were finished eating by then. We get our checks and pay. But our server is disappeared once again. Finally, she comes by, picks up my check and cash, then asks the wrong question... Do I want change?
I tell her to keep the change not because she was deserving of any outstanding tip of or in my opinion and the others, any tip, but I was tired of waiting and waiting and waiting.
Problem is simple, management lacks in many areas. No supervision of staff, no customer care, no checks on the expedition of food.
