Bruster's Real Ice Cream — Restaurant in Chattanooga

Hearty scoops and delicious ice cream. We stopped by this location today after lunch on a hot afternoon and there were quite a few people in line. Turns out it was for good reason.

The service was fast and efficient. We got 2 "Regular Waffle Cones", which come with 3 scoops of ice cream of you choice. I usually don't like chocolate ice cream (especially the type you get in the grocery stores) but I was feeling a bit daring and I ended up choosing 3 variety of chocolate ice cream for my cone: Chocolate Mudslide, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip. I'd say the risk paid off.

The ice cream itself was smooth, creamy, and delicious. The flavors weren't too sweet or overpowering and even with 3 chocolate-based flavors, you could tell where one ended and the other one started. The chocolate bits inside the ice cream were crisp and the brownie and cookie dough pieces were nice and chewy, unlike the rubber bullets you get in store-bought ice cream or a fast food joint.

At $4 + change per cone, I wouldn't visit every day but on a hot day such as today, I'd definitely say it...

We went through the drive-thru and ordered like normal as we always do. My daughter is highly allergic to dairy, egg, and peanut. I stressed to the lady with the raspy voice our allergies and to please be safe. My daughter says to me after eating about Half of her ice cream that her throat is itchy and she can’t breathe. We administered an epi pen. I called to speak with the store and the lady that took my order denied what I had said in my original order. She dodged the truth and we may be heading to the emergency room. The initial ordering situation was cloudy by the employees smart attitude that left us feeling rushed like we were some sort of nuisance. We ate here several times a month but we will never visit...

This place is fantastic! As a prior resident to Dalton, Ga, I was already familiar with Bruster’s. I found this one by “happenstance” and hubby and I decided to visit. Every since, we’ve made this a weekly Friday evening date stop. And it never disappoints.

From what I gather, the ice cream is made in-house, as I’ve received texts through the app “fresh butter pecan made at Bruster’s today”. Win win. And it’s fresh, creamy, full of flavor and nuts.

Most times it is standing room only around the ordering area, and I see why. Can’t be beat. We bypass the drive-thru option as we prefer to sit outside and enjoy. Workers are friendly as well. Love this place, give it a try....
