A simple counter service breakfast restaurant with an open air easy going atmosphere and industrial style seating. Location provides plenty of parking.
Here's my say on what all we ordered:
Summary: while it was an OK meal, it's nothing to rave about or that will make us look forward to going back. But if I did I would be ordering the Frittaffle with...
Read moreWe must have also been some of the unlucky ones. Our experience was quite poor from end to end. In short, the quality doesn't at all justify the quality.
Specifically, the wait time to order food was about 3 minutes so speedy enough. However, the wait time to receive food was extremely long: over 15 minutes. The wait feels even longer than it is because someone wearing a mask is yelling out muffled phrases of what people want for Christmas, and you can never understand what they're saying so maybe it's yours... maybe not.
We ordered a biscuit, waffle, and a hash... with a drip coffee and a latte. Breakfast for two at $37 for walk up counter service and bus your own table. Ouch.
The biscuit was soggy with too much "pepper jelly" which is actually just a sweet Thai chili sauce on it. Chicken was chewy and tasted like it was being held under a heat lamp.
The waffle had a decent flavor but the bacon in it doesn't work out. The bacon is just a chewy chunk of protein that's tough to bite through and doesn't add anything special.
The hash had a very nice gravy but was overall a lower quality than what you'd get at a chain diner. Small bits of pepper in clearly precut and frozen potatoes.
There's alot of drip coffee choices to choose from so you can find at least one you like, but the latte was weak. All seating surfaces were uncomfortable, hard wood so really helps make sure you don't linger and drink the coffee long.
In summary, won't ever bother going to another MSBC...
Read moreInconsistency is killing this once-respected business. We’ve come to this place a few times a year since they opened; it always seemed phenomenal in the beginning. In recent years however, we started experiencing most of the same inconveniences that other 1- or 2-star reviews highlight. During what is perhaps our last time patronizing MSBC, we essentially paid $20 a person to: 1) be told one item would take 45 minutes to cook whilst thereafter witnessing several other patrons receive that exact item in a normal timeframe, 2) receive no notice that our drinks were ready at the counter despite us watching/listening for them (the drinks were also not marked to identify what they were), 3) have no access to silverware/forks but at least have plasticware, 4) observe that several other patrons were equally frustrated at wrong or slow orders, 5) and have varying degrees of quality in the food we received (one person’s chicken was burnt on the outside, one meal was pretty great, and another’s tasted “off”). It makes no sense to pay for a level of quality and service that cannot consistently be deivered upon. I leave this review to hopefully be of some utility to out-of-towners or new patrons to inform them that these conditions are to be expected, and that if you have an exceptional experience, well, you’re very fortunate and are perhaps in the minority. And hopefully it serves as constructive feedback for MSBC that compels them to systematically restore or improve their...
