I went to the Chattanooga Home Goods location seeking a refund with my receipt in hand because their store at the Cleveland location inadvertently charged me twice for the same item ($60). I did not realize THEIR mistake until I was home.
I was closer to the Chattanooga store on Saturday, and I figured since it was the same store they would be able to refund me for the duplicate charge. NOPE, the cashier who attempted to help me asked her co-workers for help, and they said, "Call the Cleveland Store." After they discussed the issue, by the phone, the young cashier told me, "It's the Cleveland store's mistake, and you'll have to go there to get it resolved." I was extremely upset at this response, because the Cleveland store is not close at all to the Chattanooga store, and with the price of gas now, it's costing me even more money to get my money back because of their MISTAKE! I told the three cashiers at the Chattanooga store, "You should at least give me a gift card for the inconvenience of having to drive 30 miles out of the way!" Nope, nothing but, "Sorry, you'll have to go to the other store." Talking about passing the buck and not resolving an issue!
Fast forward 35 minutes later...I went to the Cleveland Home Goods store, and the cashier was apologetic and immediately refunded me over the $60. I asked the cashier then why the Chattanooga store couldn't refund me my money, and her response, "I don't know why they wouldn't do that for you, they could have refunded you there." Needless to say, I am NOT shopping at the Chattanooga Home Goods store...
Read moreMy husband and I went to purchase a comforter and a dog bed. The dog bed was $60 and had a small mark on it. When Wanda brought up Beth to mark it down, Beth gave us quite the hard time. She rolled her eyes, made rude comments about how all we needed to do was clean it, etc. Why would we pay $60 for a dirty dog bed?! We were only asking for 10% off anyways. I asked this Beth, “why would we pay that much for a dirty dog bed?” She said, “All you need to do it clean it!” And i said, “no offense, but why do you care so much?! It isn’t your dog bed or money and it’s 10%!! It just takes off tax!” She finally gave in and the real winner here is Wanda. Not only was Wanda friendly, she agreed with my husband and I and you could tell she was embarrassed about Beth and how she was acting. Wanda was friendly, pleasant, smiled, asked how are our day was, etc. She deserves a raise for having to work with such an unpleasant woman and Saturdays off for such wonderful customer service! These five stars...
Read moreThey had a lot of nice items to pick from. Myself though. I wasn't overly impressed. I'd hoped to find some great, inexpensive things for our new home. While yes, there was much to pick from. The prices were just a bit extreme, in my opinion. Also, quite a few items were broken or not worth, their asking prices. Due to chips missing from the statues or paint that had been worn off or rubbed off. Surely, isn't worth 40 and 50 bucks. Pillows with stains, are not worth 20 bucks. Someone made a huge mess, broken something that had liquid in it. It appeared someone was in the middle of cleaning it up. But.....forgot to finish. Not one employee ask us if we needed help. Just all in all. They had some nice things but nothing I felt was worth what they were charging. I may as well, take a chance and go to Ross. They have a lot of the same things and way, way...
