It has been over a month since I tried to contact management through email and on their websites. They offered no apologies or concern and gave me an automated response to this review. The management is either apathetic or negligent at this store.
I received an automated email in response to my comments about an experience at Mellow Mushroom. The automated email did nothing to address my concerns about the service I experienced last week. I have copied and pasted the comment below:
I invited my friends to Mellow Mushroom last Saturday. We ordered a medium house special pizza with no onions and no peppers on half. Our pizza arrived in a reasonable amount of time. However, it was doughy and undercooked throughout. The bread had the texture of congealed mucus. The upper crust appeared okay. Our server ignored us for the rest of our time there until we were about to go. I tried to make eye contact with the server for about 15 minutes, my drink was empty. Eventually I walked with the undercooked pizza to the line to request assistance. Several employees walked by me as I waited for about 8 minutes to be acknowledged. I was told to take my undercooked pizza back to my table and they would get a manager. A manager never came. The server ignored us for the next 25 minutes and another pizza arrived. Our server who had ignored us for the better part of 50 minutes, eventually apologized and asked if there was anything they could do for us. My drink was still empty, I was at a loss for words and said, "I don't know." We asked for boxes and received our check. I requested to talk to someone and our server walked away without saying anything. Someone came back and let me know not to worry about the bill. I asked them if they would like to know what happened because there was no communication other than an apology over 50 minutes later. I let them know that I had never recognized a manager. They let me know that there was one in the kitchen that I had seen. They asked me if I wanted the pizza, and I said that I would take it because at this point if I wasn't upset at being ignored I'd be starving. I submitted this a a month ago to their customer relations and received an automated response and no replies to...
Read moreTHIS PLACE NEEDS TO LEARN A THING OR TWO FROM THE DOWTOWN LOCATION. Went here last Saturday at about six fifteen, and called ahead and was told a thirty minute wait time. This was fine, as we put our name in and waited. It was actually 30 ish minutes, and we were seated. The atmosphere was ok, as the restaurant had a couple lights out inside, and the music was too loud. It wasn't that packed in there, and there wasn't many staff either. A staff member came and didn't really greet us, and sounded like they were just there for the paycheck. Absolutely no pep in their step, and talked in mumbles. This was fine, and we ordered pretzel bites, a large cheese pizza, a create your own, and four sodas (one per person). Thirty minutes in, we still have not even seen the pretzel bites even though they are an appetizer and should come out before the pizza and alas, no drink refills either. At about the forty five minute mark, we flagged her down, asked for refills and to check on the pretzel bites. Refills came, and with them came her telling us that they were never made, and that she could either "Have them start now, or take them off the bill". So now pretzel-biteless, we wait for pizza as we don't find paying for pretzel bites 45 minutes in a viable solution. Later a manager came and delivered the create your own, but alas, still no cheese. she said that the cheese was never prepared either, and would have to be remade. It was horrific. The cheese came out 10-ish minutes later, and was actually pretty good. They gave us a couple (2) five dollar off coupons to compensate us paying for everything we originally ordered (pretzel bites an exception, since they said they could make them really late and still make us pay for them, so we said no). this place was by no means crowded, and there was empty tables everywhere (The most crowded table was a table of 10 that sat next to us), and still had trouble filling customers needs. The downtown location has the same amount of staff, and is packed every weekend, and still work great, so it must just be this location. Food was great, just please, work on the food to table and customer service...

I recently visited Mellow Mushroom after a funeral, looking for a quiet place to unwind with family. It was mid-afternoon, and the restaurant was nearly empty—only a few other customers were seated. Our party of four ordered a medium pizza: half cheese, half House Special.
After waiting for about 45 minutes with no food in sight, I went to check on the order. Our waitress, sensing my frustration, said it was "coming right up." When the pizza finally arrived, it was incorrect—half cheese, half a mostly meat pizza. We pointed out the mistake, and instead of apologizing, the waitress insisted it was what we ordered. Moments later, she admitted the mistake and asked if we wanted olives on the side—which was ironic, since olives were the one topping we specifically didn’t want.
What made things worse was her attitude. When I asked for a manager, someone came over wearing a backwards hat and approached the table casually and dismissively. I asked about the ticket time, and she told me pizzas take 25–30 minutes to cook, which is misleading—especially since we had already waited over 45 minutes. Rather than showing empathy, she was condescending and rude, essentially gaslighting us about the delay.
I told her to leave the table before things escalated further. When the waitress returned to drop off the check, she chuckled and walked away like the whole situation was amusing.
What could’ve been a minor mistake turned into a very uncomfortable and disrespectful experience due to the unprofessionalism of both the waitress and the manager. I’ve always enjoyed Mellow Mushroom, but this visit left a bad taste in my mouth—not because of the food, but because of how poorly we...
