New China Buffet — Restaurant in Chattanooga

Extremely disappointed. This was one of my favorites several years ago. Came in this evening to eat and was already weirded out by the new “pay before eating “ sign. I’ve never paid for food and tipped before even being seated. I noticed they filled all around the counter with typical flea market type items for sale (strange for a restaurant) But we pay and are seated. So they used to have a pretty good selection, a hibachi, and fresh sushi bar. Well no hibachi, just some pictures of rebel flags and pot leaves for sale where it was , the buffet was barely stocked with anything, so I loaded my plate with what used to be my favorite Cajun chicken….. it tasted like rotten fish. Everything tasted terrible. I mean everything. I would steer clear. The pay before you enter is because most sane people would say they aren’t paying and walkout but I had already paid so I felt obligated to try and eat something. My wife and I instantly got nauseous after trying the chicken and several other nasty selections. Never again. It’s literally like eating in a flea market and the staff are rude as well. Lucky I tipped before dining because service was awful and the server threw my kids food away 3 times(she got plates of French fries, would get up to get ketchup and the lady would toss the plate even when we said leave it....

This is the last time I will eat here! Arrived a few minutes after 2 with my senior parents (one in a wheelchair), a person took our drink order and then we proceeded to go wash hands (which is a little time consuming having to deal with the wheelchair) and then on to the food bar. Most pans had very small amounts of food in them and what was there looked as if it had been there a while and was never stirred or refilled the entire 50 minutes I was there (also some of the pans were empty the entire time). The chicken on a stick was so hard you couldn't chew it and the mushrooms, green beans, and fried zucchini were cold - not very appetizing to say the least. We tried eating a little and waited around a while thinking they would put put fresh items but it never happened. Also, after we were seated no one ever came to refill our water or tea or to check to see if everything was alright until I got up and started looking for someone to help us. Total waste of...

My son's favorite Chinese food Restaurant for the last 14-16yrs Been going there for so long I can't hardly remember how many yrs. The owner & workers has always been awesome and professional. We've NEVER had issues w/Cleanliness & Food. It's always been fresh. I will say the seating needs a facelift though! The Covid pandemic of 20'-21' hurt small businesses like this one and giving it a facelift takes $ and when they couldn't open during the Covid or Only doing Takeout, That doesn't bring a lot of 🤑 money in. And last time we ate inside (instead of takeout) I noticed disrespectful guest, instead of using their darn napkins they decided to "sling" the juice from the Crab legs they were eating all over the floor/carpeting!!! I felt like telling the idiot's,,,this ain't your backyard ding dong!! These were grown ADULTS. Be respectful to businesses and other patrons. Unless you plan on replacing that carpet you slung your dinner on 🤦‍♀️ But I totally...
