Brought my mom here for her birthday in December (finally getting caught up on reviews after holiday rush) and the restaurant was packed. Didn't mind waiting for a table and we were told about 20 minutes and they got us in in about 10. Great!! We were seated in the back room and the waiter, Seth, took our drink orders (non-alcoholic beverages) and I told him it was my mom's birthday. He seemed displeased and dismissive right away, though I was polite and always said please and thank you. We noticed other tables had family gatherings of 4-6 or more people, and one table was set for a party of 10-12, many with birthdays. Another waiter was taking care of several of the tables, including the big party, which came in about 15 minutes after us. Seth brought our drinks, salad and rolls after several minutes, then disappeared for quite some time. I figured he was just busy, however the other waiter, who seemed to be taking care of many more tables, was quickly taking orders and getting food out. Seth finally reappeared and took our food order. By this time we'd been seated for 40 minutes. The big party got their food before us and their waiter was very attentive. We got our food, which was delicious, though I wish the restaurant offered fresh table-side grated Parmesan cheese. Seth never checked back about our food or for drink refills. He finally came back well after we had finished and dropped the check, not even asking if we wanted anything else or suggesting dessert, which I would have gotten, but at this point I was totally disgusted with his snotty attitude when I asked for boxes for our leftovers. He had also forgotten to take off my mom's birthday meal and return her license which he took to prove her birthday, which I reminded him. Again, with an attitude, he took the check back, corrected it, brought her licence and her birthday dessert, which he practically threw in front of us. I put my card in the folder and waited for him to collect it. And waited, and waited...another 20 minutes. Meanwhile, the large party had finished their meal, had a birthday celebration and left!! I finally got up, went up front and gave the payment to someone, and asked for boxes, again. One of the managers finally finished the transaction and brought boxes to the table, apologizing. While the food was good (only reason it got 2 stars), the service was horrible. I'm not sure one outweighs the other. I'm sure there are other good Italian places in Chattanooga. Doesn't matter if you have 2 guests or 20, if they order alcohol or water, if the tab is $20 or $200, they all should have the same service!!

Good eats, but not very timely. We had a party of 8 and got seated pretty quickly, far quicker than I thought we would. Meal starts off with a family salad and some tasty garlic rolls. They came to the table shortly after we ordered our drinks. Salad was good. Good balance of dressing to the lettuce and veggies. This salad has some chickpeas in it as well, which was a good bonus. The main course took, what seemed like, forever to get to us. I ordered the Veal Marsala which came with a small side of spaghetti and sauce. The veal was cooked really good and the marsala sauce had a very nice flavor. Pretty sure the mushrooms came out of a can, would have been better had they been fresh (as long as it took to get the food to the table, they could have sliced up some fresh ones). My wife ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Nothing special there, pretty simple dish. Didn't really stand out from any other spaghetti and meatballs though. Provino's does not make my list of places that I want to visit again when I come back to Chattanooga. Don't get me wrong, it was a good meal, not outstanding, but good. If you like Italian, give it a try to see for yourself.

I honestly don't know where to start so lets just start from the beginning...

We sat down about an hour before closing. Maybe 2 or 3 tables in the building and people came in after us.

Server came quickly took our drink order came back with drinks and took our food order.

I asked for the shrimp and scallop dinner but wanted the scampi sauce instead of Alfredo sauce. He was very quick to say we can do that no problem.

Problem starts here!!!!! I took the first bite of my food and tasted nothing...yes literally nothing. I added some parmesan cheese and still all I could taste was watered down parmesan cheese. I even asked my hubby to taste it to make sure it wasn't me. He said it tasted like seafood water. I told the server I was sorry I usually don't complain but it had no taste. His words. "What do you want me to do about it" maybe he meant well but it didn't feel like it. I just told him to take it back I didn't want it. They did take my entrée off.... however when we got the bill they charged me $9 for a salad. Now mind you they gave us 1 SMALL salad to share between 4 people. All 4 of us order food and salad comes with it. I told him I wasn't paying that for a shared salad. He gets the manager and oh how I'm glad I'm a nice person!!! She proceeds to tell me that she should have charged me for my whole meal because I altered their sauce. Ummmm no ma'am!!! I didn't make your sauce your cook did well actually he didn't because there was no sauce. She kept arguing that it was my fault because I want scampi instead of Alfredo. Never understanding that in no way should someone pay the same price for a whole salad if they had to share it with 4 other people. You aren't getting anymore salad or rolls if you run out either so don't expect that. I try really hard not to show my hiney in public because let's face it that's not what anyone wants. I just want to be treated fairly. You will not get an apology from this manager. Instead she will talk to you like she thinks you are an idiot. So when I tell you I possibly showed my hiney a bit I did. No name calling or cussing but I did talk to her the way she was talking to me. She did finally take the salad off my bill. Honestly Provinos needs to refund the whole bill after having to deal with her. Please think twice before wasting your time and money on this restaurant in chattanooga. We have been to the one in Marietta ga and it is awesome. There is nothing good to say about the Provinos in Chattanooga. And to the manager with medium length dark hair I hope you have the day...

Food was great service was okay. I was with about eight other people for someone's birthday. The last time I had gone out to a restaurant which was only about 2 weeks before, the person I was eating with and I did not realize that our utensils were not on the table our food was brought to us we looked at our food we looked around to see if we could get somebody's attention. After about almost 2 minutes I just got up and went towards the kitchen and asked somebody if we could have utensils and then about a minute later we got them. All this to say that when I sat down I was the last one seated and there were no utensils for me and there was no chair. I was able to just drag a chair over but I asked the server if he would please bring me utensils and a napkin the next time he came over to the table. The next time he came he was ready to take our orders or at least get our drink orders and he had not brought the utensils so I specifically said would you please be able to bring me utensils you know the next time you come to the table? So he remembered and he said oh let me go get them right now so he did. Then when he came back to the table before he handed them to me he said you sure you don't want to eat with your hands? It got a chuckle from the table and I just I was the opposite of feeling like that was funny. You never know why people ask certain things I don't know why he made a joke of it but it was just unpleasant. Then it was the person's birthday but he had brought all our checks and before you could hand them out we said well we would like some dessert so he took our orders and had to take all the checks back and get them fixed and brought them back later to the table. Anyway the food is always good I don't usually go there because I think they need to renovate the inside of there restaurant maybe a lot of people like how dark it is in there but I don't. I think it'd be nice for the fresh coat of light paint and maybe even some new carpeting although I didn't look at the carpet this time. So yeah a little picky but whatever we did have a good time and that's what mattered and the food was good and that...
