Gordo’s Bakery — Restaurant in Chattanooga

Very bad service. First of all I am from dalton ga but I am getting married in Georgetown Tennessee so I need to find all my vendors close to my venue. I called a weekend before asking the bakery if they deliver to the venue because I did not want to waste my time Going the the bakery and finding out they wouldn’t deliver. They say they can deliver and to come in the following Saturday to get a price and talk details about the cake. (I had already told them I was coming in from out of town.) I got the the bakery and it took them 1 hour and 30 mins to attend me. They gave me a album of examples of cakes but I already had a picture from their Instagram that I had liked. I wanted a 2 cakes. One 3 tier cake and a chocolates 1 tier cake. Both naked cakes neither of the cashiers could get me a direct price they said they need to contact the lady in charge of cakes that she wasn’t there. Then they told me that they couldn’t make it 3 tier because the one on their Instagram was 4 tier. It just didn’t make sense to me if it would only Be less work for them to make it a 3 tier instead of a 4 tier. So they couldn’t customize that for me but could customize me the chocolate cake into 1 tier. I kept trying to tell her and she said it wasn’t possible then they told me I had to come back again because the lady who is in charge of cakes wasn’t their when I called the bakery the week before specifically told them I’m coming in from Out of town that’s why I was calling because I didn’t want to waste my time or theirs. So I ended up driving 1 hour up to Chattanooga to wait 1 1/2 hour to be attended and come out with nothing. 1st & last time unfortunately at this bakery. Just turning onto the side street to get into their parking lot, was a nightmare. I came from the opposite direction and traffic was terrible. As I got into the lot to park behind their building. I had to park right at the dumpster area. With parking being so tight in/out. I dreaded pulling in and leaving. I get inside & immediately my senses were whisked away by the fresh smells of baked goods. So, I thought to myself, "maybe the food will make up for the parking hassle". I start to browse & begin to wonder how we either let the employees know what we want or how do we go about getting it to the counter. So as I browse the goods. I notice an older couple walk over & grab a set of tongs & a pizza pan. They begin putting their goods on it to carry up to the counter. So, I followed suit. Then, I noticed there were no labels as to what, was what. There were no prices on any of the items either. I browsed around the store and found many herbs & such that aren't able to be found in the usual shores. So that was a plus. Soursop leaves, arnica flowers, and damania tea. As I make it to the register. There were no English speaking employees to help me understand what was being said. The young lady ended up helping me understand by asking if I wanted dip sauce for the churro. I spent almost $30. Sadly, I didn't get to eat 3 of the items as they were left out on the table & ruined. I gave 2 of the baked goods away in a gift bag. I can say, the churro was good. All in all. It was an experience. They do seem to stay very busy so that's great for them. I hope they continue...

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! It was my daughters 1st birthday & we wanted everything perfect so 2 weeks in advance we went in and showed them exactly what we wanted & paid for half the cost (which was over $100) and the remaining $100 was due at the time of pickup which was supposed to be today at 11:00 am. We went twice during the 2 week period to make sure that it would be done & ready by the date & time stated on our receipt. We arrived today to pickup the cake at 11 am & they said it wasn’t ready and to come back at a later time for it to be ready, but the party was at noon so their was NO WAY we could’ve came back later. We ended up having to go to food city & pick up a cake that didn’t even match our theme. I would not recommend this place for party cakes.
