Shane's Rib Shack — Restaurant in Chattanooga

Frequently repeated place for us. The food is great. The service is better. The value for quality and atmosphere is really good.

Ordering note: Ask for well done on your wings as I've had two different times they came out with a little blood and pink inside. The first one was right at closing and the cook clearly rushed the order (I get that having managed a lot of restaurants - people are ready to go home!)

Both times they corrected immediately and were very apologetic, but I've ordered well done since and that seemed to fix it.

Definitely sign up for the rewards program. The points are kinda meh, but the notifications is how they communicate specials which are usually really good. It's also the easy way to keep up with giveaways and their yearly "scratchers." They give them out over the holidays and you can scratch and redeem prizes after New Year.

The staff is always - always - always friendly, helpful, present, quick .... You don't have to beg for help or wait forever to get someone's attention.

The food always comes out quickly and the attention to the order details are good.

We have a celiac in our house. We tell them when ordering and have not had any cross contamination issues at all.

We ate here for lunch and we loved it. The food was so good! We got pulled pork, a half slab of ribs and grilled chicken. I loved the fact that their food was not greasy like a lot of barbecue places are. I also liked that the food had great flavor without the sauces they have. The sauces just gave it even more flavor. I got okra and macaroni and cheese. They were both good. I loved that the okra wasn't over breaded like a lot of other places are. My friend got the same thing but also got potato salad. It was delicious. The speed of service was great even though there were people besides us in there. They had a large carry out order and still kept things moving. The restaurant was very clean and well stocked. I was very impressed. The pricing is Very reasonable. The only drawback was the staff seemed to be more talking amongst themselves than with customers. On the way out, I saw a family that had sandwich plates that made me want to go back 🤣 The bathroom was clean and stocked too. Great place. Will definitely be back and I'm definitely...

You would expect ribs to be their specialty… in past experiences they’ve been top notch. Tonight they were inedible! The other person in our group that ordered ribs was watching my reaction. So I knew something was off and it wasn't just me. We couldn’t decide if they’d been over or under cooked or left overs from the night before. I should have sent them back but I hate to be that person. Once I got home it hit me that I paid $17.99 for basically onion rings and okra. Now I’m that person! I still had to come home and eat a pb&j! I spent $80 dine in plus $30 for a take home order I’d promised… not ribs! Im giving 2 stars because the pork plate and the chicken plate every one else had was really good. You’d think if their name had Rib Shack in it, that would be a place for outstanding ribs.
