Call in orders is what myself & fiance do most. I follow a gluten free diet and was very excited to hear they offered a pizza that is! Although they inform you that they cannot help you in making topping choices they do assure you that the pizza itself is gluten free as they cook it in its very own tin. Ok, so I've tried this pizza now several times thinking it was perhaps a chance of my toppings being a factor. WRONG! I've even tried the pizza plain cheese as it comes and still gotten sick. Now I'm extremely cautious about what I put into my body so the fact that this keeps happening every time I eat Sal's Pizza leads me to think they don't practice safe handling. Low and behold my VERY LAST TIME EVER going to this place I watched my pizza come out of the oven and another pizza at the same time. First the larger pizza was cut with the pizza wheel and then mine, problem you ask? I WATCHED THE SAME WHEEL BEING USED THE WHOLE TIME, no attempt for not cross contaminating!! AND I over heard the staff say how this was the first gluten free pizza he's ever made, which that in itself isn't a crime but could explain the carelessness.
I understand its a pizza place, flour flies around everywhere, cross contamination can happen by accident, but seriously to actually watch my pizza get cut up with the same wheel? Not acceptable. And lets not get me started at the extremely outrageous prices on said pizza. Which by the way flavor wise are more than averagely boring. For anyone who follows this diet you know the pizza I'm talking about, a frozen pizza reheated. Sort of chemically but if you add enough goodies on top it almost is passable if your having a pizza craving!.
All and all, for gluten free DO NOT GO THERE.. For regular eaters, it seems what I can gather same thing, and from what my fiance says the normal pizza is just average...
Read moreThe first time I went to this pizza place I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and it was very good. The buffalo chicken was inside the cheese and it included buffalo sauce on the pizza as well. However, last night was the worst experience I’ve had ordering pizza. My girlfriend and I ordered the same buffalo chicken pizza online that we have ordered in the past. However, when we picked it up it was half buffalo chicken and half cheese. Normally, we wouldn’t care but we paid an extra $4 to have buffalo chicken on the pizza. So, we brought it back and politely asked them to make the correct pizza that we ordered. First of all, NO ONE apologized for getting our order wrong not even the manager on duty. I feel like it’s common courtesy at a restaurant to apologize in a situation like this. Then, before making the pizza one of the worker’s asked the manager if he should use fresh mozzarella and the manager proceeded to say no which I found was odd. Lastly, once we received the new pizza, it was only a cheese pizza with minimal buffalo chicken placed on top of it. Also, we weren’t thanked for patiently waiting or thanked for our business. On top of that, they told a family that the menu’s they were looking at were TWO YEARS old and prices have changed. I’ve never been to a restaurant that has outdated menu’s, let alone two years outdated. After everything that happened, we decided to take the pizza home. My girlfriend and I don’t eat out often and this was supposed to be a fun Friday night but instead it was frustrating that this pizza place was not friendly at all and they couldn’t make their own pizza. We will NEVER...
Read moreWhat an absolute nightmare. My husband and I aren't super picky with take out, so we thought we'd take advantage of the 50% off your first order coupon on their app and try the pizza from here. I ordered a medium buffalo chicken and a pepperoni with veggies. All their ads say their delivery is super fast too which is what we needed as we were busy later that evening. The app said I had been connected to a driver and that my order would be delivered at approximately 6:20pm. At 6:20, the map showed my driver was still driving around and not picking up my order. Well over an hour later I finally see my order get picked up from the food truck they have parked in lowell. The delivery driver took 25 minutes to make a 10 minute drive, handed me the pizza and left. My Buffalo chicken pizza also had a ton of BBQ sauce on it which made no sense, and the pepperoni on the other pizza was pale and really gross looking. Both pizzas were cold and hard like they had been sitting room temp for hours. We ate a few slices because at this point we were starving, but it really was not good at all. Hours later and into this morning my husband and I have been living in the bathroom if you catch my drift. I've eaten at plenty of mediocre places in the area and never was this disappointed or this sick after eating the food. We will never be back and I felt compelled to write this so that others don't waste their time either. Give your money to a small business that serves fresh...
