Yesterday, I took my family to Amy's Omelette House in Cherry Hill, and I was very disappointed with their lack of transparency in pricing, customer service, and product quality.

My son ordered the Southern Sampler, which didn’t come with the sweet and spicy maple syrup it promised. The sausage was bland. I asked for my eggs fried hard, but they came scrambled hard. I didn't complain because I don't like sending food back, but it added to my overall dissatisfaction.

The most concerning issue...

My daughter ordered the Strawberry Haze, which is two pancakes with fresh strawberries and a Nutella drizzle for $10.99. She wanted to add home fries and sausage, but the menu didn't list prices for these extras. The waiter suggested and pointed on the menu to the Mega Meal, which included home fries, sausage, bacon, and eggs, for $16.99, so we chose that.

However, the bill was $21.49 due to a Nutella Stacker upcharge, which was never mentioned. This felt misleading because her order wasn’t even the Nutella Stackers, which costs $15.99 by itself and includes four pancakes with layers of Nutella, pecans, and strawberries. Her pancakes matched the $10.99 price of the standard order of pancakes, which was consistent with the Mega Meal price of $16.99, making the upcharge seem deceptive.

When I brought up the unexpected charge to the manager, nothing was done to acknowledge their lack of transparency or to fix it. The manager said it didn't matter that the upcharge wasn't shown on the menu or mentioned by the waiter. We were told to be happy that it cost less than ordering each item separately, even though we had no idea what those prices would have been because they weren't listed on the menu.

There was also no apology for the lack of transparency. They offer a 10% discount on their website through December 2024, so it’s not like they couldn’t have adjusted the bill to reflect the price they advertised on the menu; the price the waiter himself pointed to. That would have been less than a 10% discount.

If you decide to give this place a try, prepare for bland food, make sure your order is correct, and check your receipts for any surprise upcharges. There are many other restaurants with better food and service; if you can’t steer clear of this one,...

I had not been to this restaurant in quite some time and my first visit was good, I decided to try again today, 8/10/21. A major mistake. We were seated at the table for a good 5 minutes before anyone came to ask us what we wanted to drink. When the server came she asked if we were ready to order. She never asked if we wanted anything to drink. I did notice when another couple came in this same server was at their table in less than a minute and shortly after that they had water. We told the server that we were not ready to order. She must have thought we needed 15 minutes to order, When I gave her my order I clearly told her NO tomatoes. When food arrived, I cut into my omlette and yep, tomatoes. She returns with my bread and I tell her, I told you no tomatoes. Her response was oh. Really. Not, I'm sorry I'll have them make another. What if I had started to eat and was allergic to tomatoes. I just pushed them to the side. My cousin asks for coffee. No spoon provided, no creamer, no sugar etc. I took the condiment tray off another table. Condiment tray also contained the napkins, My cousin ordered the waffle and no butter was provided. I think server went to Shoprite to get butter as it took her so long to bring back. By that time, the waffle was cold but my cousin decided not to send back.

This place was EMPTY. No excuse for the type of service we received. The food was good but when the service is poor, ( her tip reflected her service), you don't want to return and I for one, will never return to...

They don’t even say good morning when you come up to the hostesses. They sit you down and ignore you. We ordered the eggs benedict with avocado and the breakfast burger. Both with homefries. First of all they should be called home mashed potatoes because they were everything but fried or crunchy. They were honestly the worst home fries I have ever had. The burger had no flavor, like none… how can you mess up a burger? A $16 burger on top of that. And lastly the eggs Benedict with avocado: It must really take the dumbest cook on the planet to mess up the poached egg but they did. I received a boiled egg with two tiny slivers of avocado on each side on top of the muffin. The taste was ok but you’re supposed to have a runny yolk on a poached egg and that was not the case. On top of that, the avocado was such a small portion that If it was 5 cents worth of avocado I would say they were splurging. The decoration is ok but the food sucks, the waiter hardly came by, not even for a coffee refill and after waiting for him to show up on the restaurant floor for like 20 after being MIA, we stood up and went pay without even the check. The decorating is cool but I’m...

Curious as to how this restaurant is so highly rated, but no one in our party ordered an omlette for breakfast, so maybe we missed out. The breakfast portions were very large, so you are getting a lot of value for your money. The scrambled eggs came in one large continuous piece, like an omlette without any filling. The bacon was both parts crunchy and chewy, and the sausage was larger and thicker than your average sized breakfast meat. The French toast and pancakes were light and fluffy. The decor is similar to a roadside diner, if not a little worn out and dated. We were seated in the covered outdoor patio during winter. They have two large ceramic heating elements to heat the patio, which means that if you're sitting at the tables directly underneath you're going to be uncomfortably warm, but if you sit in the tables along the edge of the patio you're going to be cold, as the walls to the covered patio are fabric and let in all the winter air. The food arrived quickly, but ultimately I didn't find it any more enjoyable or tastier than what you would find at a chain restaurant, but then again, maybe that's because we didn't try the omlette.

Update: 4 stars, The restaurant’s response to my review is not only appreciated and refreshing, but an example of what good leadership looks like. The accountability and action taken is admirable and i hope this helps Amys’ grow and to have an abundant season. Original review: 3 stars I would recommend going there and dining in but wouldnt recommend ordering through the 3rd party delivery services, like DD. Amys’ food packers dont give the basic stuff (utensils, enough napkins, salt, pepper, ketchup) without you specifically asking your driver to ask for it.. which they shouldn’t have to. They have also completely left out my toast. Although toast comes with my meal, they neglected to include it. On the receipt, there is a line that says “no choice” which im going to assume is for the type of toast…but there was NO toast options for this meal in DD. Regardless if there was, that doesn’t mean exclude it if someone doesnt choose what type of toast they want. Give whatever is pictured. I have order here twice while at work and dont have what i need to enjoy my food.. mind you i work from a stationary vehicle.
