This place runs lukewarm to cold. Never hot. So, this will be our last visit here. Sorry, we gave you plenty of tries. The kitchen is the best part, the food is fine. Service and management need much improvement. 3 visits this month between work, family and friends. Never had a manager stop by once. Never even saw one until tonight's visit. It was after 9pm, - 3 tables of customers only, and one guy alone at the bar. The manager ("Gino" as I overheard someone call him) hung around the bar the entire 90 minutes we were there, conversing with waitresses only. He couldn't have stopped at the 3 lousy tables with customers to see how things were going/went? He probably knew better, with that crew. I had to ask a waitress twice very nicely to please stop sweeping all around me, but that was only after she swept up all dust and dirt from the booth next to me for more than 5 minutes straight. She was doing busy work as there wasnt anything in the dustpan but a ton of dust: there were no straws, wrappers, food, etc, she just kept doing it over and over kicking up more dust, trying to look busy, and it was geting in my eyes and throat. The place was virtually empty, but she had to do it literally 5 feet from me! She made me wait another 3 minutes or so, continuing kicking up floor filth dust, when I asked again. She put the fustbin and broom away, and came back with amonia in a bottle! Spraying and wiping the tablets on the tables all around me. The chemicals reek. This was getting outrageous. This needs to be done, I get it, but not while a customer is trying to eat their food! The temperature in there was so cold, I could barely stand it, in the mid 60's I'd say. Last but not least, the 'music' was atrocious. Rap, hip hop, was blasting, mixed in with a few strange songs none if us ever heard before. Blaring loud. Not conducive to dining. Our server never checked back even once, after the food was delivered. Not until the check drop off. We packed up most of our food, and left. Everyone enjoyed their meal except me because I didn’t order my burger right!😔😔 I’m a big burger LOVER and I always order my burger well but not burned.🤗🤗 I did get a well burger but very very well and dry.😔😔 I didn’t complain and never send my food back for a replacement. However, they have excellent customer service and a manager was doing his rounds and stopped by our table to see how we were enjoying our meal saw my uneaten meal and asked about it. I told manager Rob why I couldn’t eat it and how I had ordered it. He then began to tell me that at Applebee’s they do burgers pink or no pink. If I had ordered a no pink burger it would have come out well and juicy!😳😳 So I got a good lesson and learning experience on how to order my next burger from Applebee’s!🤗🤗
The manager then graciously offered to bring me a new burger and I refused because my family had finished eating their meals. He insisted and wanted to make my experience at Applebee’s a good one and said just take it home with you!🤗🤗😍😍
The new burger no pink burger was perfect, beautifully done, cooked to perfection, juicy and tasted delicious!!
When I got the check the manager had removed my meal from the bill!😳😳🤗🤗🤗😍😍😍😍 WOW!!!🤗🤗 I never expected that because I never asked for that to happen!!😍😍😍 This was definitely EXCELLENT customer service!!! Thank you manager Rob!!😍😍😍😍😍😍

Read moreHORRIBLE EXPERIENCE......i went to the bar and sat down to order food to go.....the bartender asked me what did i want to drink....i replied lemon aid....she stated that i have to have an alcoholic drink in order for me to sit at the bar......i asked are you telling me that i have to have an alcoholic beverage to sit at the bar....she said yes and added in a derogatory tone of voice "GO SIT DOWN OVER THERE"....I did not react to her condescending tone of voice.....I asked for the manager he came right over and i explained to him as to what just occurred......i asked him was it customary for employees to try to force customers to drink liquor......he said customers are not required to purchase or consume liquor any where in the reataurant.....i also stated that if this attempt to force liquor consumption was reported to the NJ Liquor board that Applebees could jeopardize their liquor license.....he acknowledged that his employee was wrong..........However, I am inclined to believe that the server was being more racist than anything......i say this because 2 young ladies that were sitting to my left said....they heard and observed what the bartender tried to do, and that they were going to speak out on this incident, because the customer that was sitting in my seat before i got there was a white female, who ordered food and a nonalcoholic drink...but once they heard me ask for the manager they backed off.....and yes i am a senior (over 60)...
