Updated 2024 review:

Came here again because people still say the food is great, and that the owner is sober so they have great NA selection. I can't verify that the owner is sober, but I thought I had read that before. Regardless, the short is that the food is overpriced and the NA list was severely lacking.

We ordered the onion dip and caramelized cauliflower, those were both great. We especially loved the sauce with the cauliflower.

We also ordered two drinks, my girlfriend got a seasonal cocktail, and I got the NA michelada. My girlfriend said her cocktail was decent, but the mocktail was just so so. The menu only showed one NA beer which is disappointing since there are so many great options now. The mocktail list was short and lacking in any creativity. How hard would it have been to have came up with like a ginger beer cranberry spritzer with a seasonal garnish?

For the entrees we got the fish if the day (wahoo) with au gratin potatoes, and the stuffed ham special. The wahoo and potatoes were cooked with care, practically perfect, but neither tasted like they had much seasoning at all. Well cooked, but bland. The ham was dry, as if it was cooked way early in the morning, or leftovers from the day before. The polenta was fantastic, and I did like the seasonal chutney that accompanied it.

The bill came and I felt like it was 20%-30% more than it should have been, mainly from the entrees. $30+ for the entrees doesn't fit the quality. I could have gone to a multitude of better restaurants, that have better mocktails and food, and spent a similar amount. Bud & Marilyn's in Philly is a good example.

The atmosphere sucks, no way around it. It was loud in 2018, it's still loud. Having a conversation is difficult.

We ended up spending approximately $127 before tip, and I felt very disappointed. If it had come in around $95 then I wouldn't have felt cheated. The cost is verging on the border of excellent restaurants like Li Beirut, Suraya, Bud and Marilyn's, or Indeblue, without the quality and imagination.

Old review from 2018: I came here with my girlfriend on a Friday night, perhaps around 8pm or 9pm. It was busy, but we were seated quickly. Service was a bit slow, but it's hard to fault them on this given the business of the restaurant. With that said, the place felt crowded and loud.

The food is decent, though less of a value compared to similar quality restaurants within a 15 minute drive. Same with the beer list, while there are good options, there was nothing that stood out on this visit when compared to something like The Pourhouse.

Despite that, my biggest gripe is that the atmosphere was dark, loud, and felt crowded. I've been in crowded restaurants that have still felt somewhat cozy, cozy is not a word I would use to describe The Farm and Fisherman.

It's worth a visit, but if I'm going to go to loud places that aren't very cozy, then I'm going to consider ones with either better value for the food, or ones that have a...

Should book a reservation for a table or seat yourself first come first serve at the bar.

The front desk is a bit unorganized. Came in with a reservation and was told to follow a waitress. The waitress seated another pair? Returned to the front where we had to wait for other people to get seated first. What was the point of the reservation??

Tables are small but the waiters are quick to cleanup so it's fairly efficient. Waiters and bus boys seem to be scrambling as staff were walking very quickly everywhere. Each course prob took roughly 10 minutes from order to table, so pretty fast.

Deviled eggs, never really get these but I hear comments about how much people seem to enjoy them so had to try. Thought they were just okay, would probably not get again. These came out super fast though.

Spring scallop risotto, thought it would've been better if it were served with a spoon. Very thin sauce but cheesey enough to hold the rice together. Thought it was fresh tasting, friend thought it was weird.

Rigatoni bolognese, what'd you'd expect from a pasta dish, tomato sauce and beef. Liked it, but prob wouldn't pay 30$ for it again.

Bluebarb pie, liked it, crumble crust was nice. Blueberries weren't too sweet. Ice cream was just okay. A bit mediocre on the freeze, not icy but probably lower in fat content.

Tavern crunch, I didn't like this. It didn't really taste like peanut butter or chocolate or caramel to me. Bottom crust was fairly hard to cut through with the spoon provided. Friend said it was like one of those reesse's no-bake things.

Chamule, interesting, but wouldn't get again. Kind of sour. Pretty expensive at 11$.

Tavern tea, was lemonade. Was fine.

Has 2 single room neutral gender bathrooms, manual sink, toilet, soap. Hand dryer, no towels.

Lighting is pretty dim but had necessary table lamps. Noise is moderate, less loud than a sports bar. Had groups of all sizes and parents walking their small children around.

Don't trust google maps if you're trying to go eastbound on 70. It says you can cut through the parking lot around back but it's really unkept with concrete posts littering around and a curb that's not marked. Just go westbound and make a turn somewhere to turn around. Parking out front can get busy.

Being a local but never having visited, thought it was time to go as recommended by a colleague. Thought it was alright but all this cost like $150 (after tax and tip).

They take your card back to their counter POS, so...

I’ve been here many times and enjoyed many meals. However, started by finding out that they now want your credit card information to make a reservation. That was new for me since they never did that before. Went ahead and made the reservation anyway. Got to our table took the waitress 15 minutes to even acknowledge us at the table. She was too busy having long conversations with other patrons. Again, I liked that she did that, but 15 minutes and not even water for her newest table. We almost left. When she finally got to us, she told us of the special that I didn’t even hear, music was pretty loud or she spoke way to low. We ordered everything for the table, 2 apps, 2 cocktails, 2 entree. I ordered the scallops risotto in brown sauce and parm cheese for my entree. She kept filling everyone’s cups with water and kept forgetting our table. When I received my dish it looked a really unappetizing, like vomit, and almost too cheesy to the point that the yellow oils from the cheese rimmed my dish. I had to practically had to do a dance to get her attention. The table next to me had to get her attention for me. She took it back, and I ordered the fish and chips one of my favorites there. While i appreciate that it was rushed and came out, they didn’t drain the oil from the fish and it was extremely greasy. I’ve had this dish before and fish and chips at other restaurants, and never had I had it come out that greasy. It was so greasy I touched it and oil was oozing out. I returned it and wanted my check. At least my partners dish came out good. I have to say, don’t know if they were having and off night, but it will be a while...

I ended up coming in on a busy Saturday night. The house music was what I needed to get me through the long day I had. It really made it a vibe. DRINKS I ordered the black walnut old fashioned and it was not even on the menu. My lady ordered the tavern tea. My old fashioned was sweet how I like them but well balanced. The tones, were refreshing, and it had some type of spice undertones. The Tavern Tea looked really cool. Almost like a painting on display (see enclosed photo). For our app we ordered the chips and 24 hour onion dip $8.00. It came out in seconds after we ordered it. The chips were like home made potato chips and the dip didn’t taste like your processed canned dip you get for a superbowl party. The quantity was good for two to share. My Beer battered fish with green salad eventually came out. The salad was shredded nice and it was zesty. Very tasty to keep it brief. I bit into the sandwich. And wow it melted in my mouth. No fried crunch, but soft and tasty. I DID NOT WANT IT TO END. But it ended and now I have to come back. One of the best fish sandwiches I ever had. SERVICE Heather announced the specials. She seemed aligned with the mission of the place. She did this by providing great customer service and by coning at the right moments. She never interrupt us at all. I got sat next to the wall with my significant other. My reservation was at 8:00 pm, however, we arrived at 7:30 and they were able to accommodate us. Overall, this review isn’t for the regulars, it’s for the individuals who are risk takers and know how to read a good review. This place won’t disappoint.

This is a very nice Resturant clean the service is good as is the atmosphere. This place is gourmet a blend of a lot of ethnic food I had lunch here and I thought it to be a seafood restaurant this is not the case. The menu I had trouble understanding the combinations. Of different appetizers and entrée s I'm sorry to say was over my head.thats me I'm not used to this type of food I personally bombed out ordering their cheese plate appetizer they had black berries which was interesting I'm not a blue cheese person could not eat that it did have a little Brie and cheddar the crackers they served with it were very odd not what I'm used to. And the two condiments different. I unfortunately should have asked my server to explain the list I of appetizers. I felt the cheese plate was the the safest. I do want to tell all the Tomato bisque soup was excellent and the battered fried fish sandwich and their homemade sauce on it was very good I also had their bourbon peach pie with vanilla ice cream on top was very tasty. I think its a nice Resturant to visit but a lot of the things on their menu could use explanation especially to people who have never eaten there before. I spoke to another person there she was a repeater and pleased with the food.im told a lot of people love the food here.this was my first time eating here so I was .a bit bewildered as what to order.the lunch was special as I got to see my cousin there for Lunch.i reccomend this restaurant for those who have a gourmet palate.
